Triplets

Tedtomtim · 17/06/2024 14:01

DH and I are expecting triplets after many rounds of IVF and a lot of patience.
Babies are two girls and a boy. I’d say our naming style is simple and classic, our ideas right now are

  • Anna
  • Emma
  • Lucy
  • Grace
  • Sophie
  • Eve
  • James
  • Harry
  • Jack
  • Adam
  • Liam
  • Zach

My favourite combination is Emma, Harry & Sophie, DH likes Anna, Emma & Jack

Thoughts?

Congratulations, and good luck :) from your choices I would choose Emma, Grace and Adam.

I like Anna but prefer Hannah
Emma is a lovely underused classic
Lucy is lovely but quite popular in my area
I like the simplicity of Gracs
Sophie is nice but again very popular in my area
I always find Eve a bit abrupt, plus Evies and Eva's are everywhere

I like James alot just prefer Adam
Really not a fan of Harry
I like Jack too
like Liam but it feels a bit dated, maybe because there were quite a few at school
like Zach but not as a full name, love Zachary

Have you considered Elliott, Daniel, Peter, Samuel - they have a similar feel

KayEmAy · 18/06/2024 20:47

You've got a lovely list! Personal favorite combo from your list - Eve, Sophie, Jack

Other ideas based on your style:

Lena, Tess and Evan

Phoebe, Claire and Ryan

Mia, Jay and Zoe

Thea, Sophie and Brandon

Hailey, Grace and Emmett

Anna, Daisy and Carter

Caroline, Wendy and Elliot

Lexi, Neil and Emma

Congrats!

CheeseyOnionPie · 18/06/2024 14:41

Lucy, Sophie and Harry sound like a thoroughly lovely set of siblings who throw one heck of a birthday bash!

camellia15 · 18/06/2024 14:38

Sophie, Emma and James

It’s such a lovely name and DD adores it! Pity that so many MN posters seem to love shooting it down as overused when in our experience it really isn’t.

Eva is a beautiful name but it is quite popular in many areas. In my daughters class there are 2 Eva’s, 3 Evie’s and 2 Ava’s. And there are a few more in the school too.

however I love the name Eva. It’s so pretty

Mumof2girls2121 · 18/06/2024 06:12

Emma, Sophie & Jack

Thank you everyone.

We also live the name Laura but worry it’s a little dated?
Emma is definitely set in stone.

I like Emma, Laura and James too, or even Jack

Emma, Laura, and James would be so lovely.

PardonMee · 17/06/2024 22:54

Harry Sophie Emily or Eve

Wowwellokthen · 17/06/2024 22:48

I have an Emma and a Zach - so we have similar taste.
Other names I considered were:
Zoe
Katie
Finlay
Hannah

Mumofgirls2017 · 17/06/2024 22:36

All lovely. I’d go Anna, Lucy and James

Puppiesmakemehappy · 17/06/2024 22:15

Massive congratulations. Both lovely sets of classic names, I don’t think there’s a bad choice to be had.
You could always use them all and make them as middle names?

NewName24 · 17/06/2024 22:14

Emma, Laura and Jack or James are lovely choices.

Tbf, all your names are nice.
I was coming to say 100% make sure they have different initials (as you had both Emma and Eve in your list).

I will add to this that since having my own Eva 11 years ago, we’ve only ever met 1 other and that was on holiday in Greece. There are 7 Evie’s in her primary school and 2 Eves. We also used to go to playgroup with a different Eve when DD was a toddler. Eva isn’t half as popular as mumsnet always seems to assume.

You will spend the rest of your life saying the names together, so don’t choose anything too similar , like Anna / Eva/ Emma or Lucy and Sophie.

And no It doesn’t stop when they leave home, you will still be phoning Emma when she’s 50 telling her that Anna wants her to phone Evan about something. So make life easier for you and everyone else by choosing names that sound different. It’s not hard, there are dozens of beautiful classic names.

Personally Id chose middle names to honour someone on each side of your families ( I’m assuming you won’t have any more kids ! ). So if the babies have your surname, chose one from your side and two from your husband’s side of the family. Or vice Versa.

In contrast - I have a 19 year old Eva. She has only ever met 2 others in her entire life yet knows loads of Eves and Evies. 3 Eves + 2 Evies in her school year, she is the only Eva.

I love Emma, Lucy and Harry. Best wishes

Hippychickster · 17/06/2024 14:04

I'd say Grace, Sophie and Jack, but I have 2 of those so I'm biased!

Congratulations

I was going to say Sophie, Grace & Jack too!

Congratulations OP!

mumofblu · 17/06/2024 21:37

This is interesting

I never thought of how my children's names sound together . Just went with what we liked . Is this a twin / triplet thing ? Or is it just me that doesn't think that far .
I did put uncle and auntie in front of our children's names to see if I liked the names for adults ( not just children )

I think if it was me I would be looking at themes . Nature maybe
Robin or Jay , Wren and Paloma ?
Aster ( means flower ) Daisy , Lily

I did have a friend who swore he had a twin nephew and niece called cash and Carrie ! But I never met them

Congratulations btw ,

shoopshoopdedoo · 17/06/2024 20:36

I like all of your choices, especially the top three on each list. I’d pick Emma, Lucy and James. Or, I’d swap Lucy for Alice.
