Full disclosure: the babies we are naming are hens, not humans, so no need to worry about school bullying or job applications

Obviously Henrietta is on the list, open to any and all suggestions

Portia / Porshe

Hmm
Interesting with these two names
Portia is very posh
Porsche is the complete opposite.

Great thread!
Though my name has come up half a dozen times which I don't think is a good thing (no it's not Araminta though this is a great name for a hen)!

Poshos that have appeared in my life:

Virginia
Cressida
Hester
Georgina (George)
Rosanna
Coco
Rosamund

Name changed for this…my name has also come up multiple times 😂 and it’s quite an unusual one! Then again I am quite posh I guess…wonder if we have the same name haha

Whatthechicken · 08/06/2024 20:04

Not posh but with my first hens I went with all the Bs: Barbara, Beryl, Brenda and Betsy. I let the kids choose the next three hen's names. We had Daisy, Poppy and Maggie. Then the next three Hens had a Harry Potter theme: Hermione, Luna and Geraldine.

None of my peers at boarding school used their names....everyone had nicknames! (Minty, Twiggy, Bunty, Taggie, Pops, etc....)

Names were things like Camilla, Henrietta, Pandora, Annabella etc....

Don’t go with Arabella. There are three in DD nursery!

They’re chickens. I don’t think they’ll be going to school. 🤣
