they're all quite popular round here apart from Zachary
none are imo white working class names if that is what is worrying you? agree about chav obsession atm on here. more 'wet middle england' to quote moondog

mamalovesmojitos · 06/04/2008 20:14

love joshua, finlay and alexander.
dont like zachary or monty but they're not chavvy imo.

love love love ruby, the others are all ok.

none are chavvy or awful.

LynetteScavo · 06/04/2008 20:13

Monty, Middle class, intelligent. I think labrador, but I do love it.

Joshua, naughty scamp. over popular imo.

Finlay - young and funky parents, but not chavvy.

Charlie, getting over popular, but ok if short for Charles.

Jo, Good solid name, timelss and classless.

Toby, OK.

Alexander, for some reason their parents seem older and fussier that everybody elses.

Will - Ok, but for some reason I'm not keen on William, no reason why.

Zachary - cool, funky, have only ever known one who was bright, evergetic, and very scamptastic.

Ruby, I would have had this for DD, but it didn't go with our surname. Some have sugested it is the new Jade.

Katie, OK

Emelia, looks like parents just wanted an alternative spelling to Amelia

Fenella - quite posh and unusual.

Amelia, quite the best name of all but becoming far to popular now, so avoid at all costs.

They are all dreadful. Jo is ok though as is William.
And dead common.

How anyone could name a boy after a jug is beyond me.

FranSanDisco · 06/04/2008 20:07

I like Finlay, Jo with an e for a boy. I prefer the shortened versions Alex, Will and Zach.

I like Katie, Emilia and Ruby from the girls list.

They don't make me think of any type of person.

What's this obsession with chavvy?

TillyScoutsmum · 06/04/2008 20:06

I don't think any are chavvy

Joshua, Charlie and Finlay are probably more popular than the others - with Finlay being a bit more "fashionable"

Jo (without an e) is to me, a girl's spelling

Fenella and Monty are quite posh

Alexander and Katie are my favorites from your list
