Nell is not great imo. Reminds me of death knell.

Nellie is far better. Or Nora.
Eleanora is lovely.

India is nice. Not keen on Indy. Reminds me of Nascar racing.

Why not just use the full names? Do names have to be abbreviated?

17caterpillars1mouse · 14/05/2024 20:02

Eleanora is beautiful
Nell is nice but I think it needs a longer name
Indie is OK as a nickname
Dislike India as a name

HoHoHoliday · 14/05/2024 19:54

Eleanora as a full name but Nell for short

India with or without the nickname Indy.

I don't mind Eleanora but don't like Nell and prefer Eleanor. With Eleanora I would use Lena, Ella or Nora for short over Nell.

Nell is lovely but IMO is not a whole name so out of your options I would say Eleanora with nickname Nell.

I prefer Elena (Eh-LAY-nah) with Nell though.

Am not a fan of India or Indy, sorry.

Is the INDI in upper case and blu in lower case on her birth certificate?

Edited as it might be unisex.

Edited

Sorry Indi blu

I love INDI …I know an INDI blu gorgeous name

NewName24 · 13/05/2024 20:08

I don't like Indy nor India

For Nell I would use Helen, or Eleanor

I don't like Eleanora.

  • It feels like too many syllables.
  • It sounds like it should be shortened to Nora
  • I bet she would get fed up of people thinking it was Eleanor
Heavenlyhoumous · 13/05/2024 19:22

Nell ❤

FayCarew · 13/05/2024 17:30

Helen is lovely

FayCarew · 13/05/2024 17:13

Nell as a full name - nice
Eleanora as a full name but Nell for short - Prefer just Nell
India - not OK
Indy as a full name - awful

shoopshoopdedoo · 13/05/2024 16:16

I really like Nell as a nickname for Eleanor or Helena. Not so keen on Eleanora. Personally, I don’t like Indy.

ginasevern · 13/05/2024 16:02

Eleanor is a beautiful and timless name. It is also a proper name. Indy is not. India might be OK if you have a strong connection to the country (such as your child being born there) like Louis Mountbatten's daughter whom the world and his wife subsequently copied. Otherwise it is meaningless.

salamithumbs · 13/05/2024 15:58

I love Eleanora but really dislike Nell... so I suppose I'd choose India. But if Eleanora is an option with a different nickname I'd choose that!

lavenderjump · 13/05/2024 15:19

Eleanora, nn Nell

CurlewKate · 13/05/2024 14:44

I'd go for Helen, shortened to Nell.

Mumofgirls2017 · 13/05/2024 14:15

eleanora nn nell

YourWinter · 13/05/2024 14:00

Eleanor, or preferably, Leonora.

Indy only as a nn for India, not as a full name.

Moreteaandchocolate · 13/05/2024 13:58

Eleanora, with Nell for short - gorgeous, classy, works for all ages, not overused - a definite winner!

Sundaysunshine21 · 13/05/2024 13:54

Eleanora with Nell as a nn.

I like India too, and you could use Indy as a nn.

I think Nell and Indy are fairly popular as full names currently so you’d also be fine with either.
