What's your opinion?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Durdledore · 11/05/2024 17:43

no thanks

AllThePotatoesAreSinging · 11/05/2024 17:42

It’s a dog’s name (never met one while teaching but know a collie, red setter and a mongrel who all share the name).

jonnyjanetkeogh · 11/05/2024 17:41

It makes me think Mini but that isn't a bad thing. My friend has a son named Cooper and he does suit it. It's not an awful name, it's sweet and does look nice written down IMO (other MNers May have different opinions of course)

OutOfTheHouse · 11/05/2024 17:39

It’s a bit old hat. I teach primary and there are a lot of Coopers. They are mainly 10 years old or so.

RogueFemale · 11/05/2024 17:37

Why would you name a baby after a person whose job is making barrels?

mum2jakie · 11/05/2024 17:15

If you like surname style names, have you considered Harrison, Miller or Morgan?

raspberryberet7 · 11/05/2024 13:01

I like it but could be biased as I know a couple of coopers and they're both lovely

FayCarew · 11/05/2024 13:01

Super dooper

cherryassam · 11/05/2024 13:01

I’m of the age where Cooper is the hot uncle in One Tree Hill.

I do also know a very lively Vizla called Cooper though.

It’s very American, and like @ClipClopperDontStopper says, there are some names which will never get the MN seal of approval even if many other people think they’re nice

ClipClopperDontStopper · 11/05/2024 12:57

I just suggested it on another thread as an alternative to Mason. I did say it might be predominantly used for dogs now though.

I quite like it. I like Wyatt too which has a similar American vibe.

But, OP, names like this will never get the MN seal of approval. You need Godfrey or something along those lines for that.

sweetnessandlighter · 11/05/2024 12:57

I know a woman with a DS called Cooper. His big brother is Jackson. I wouldn't normally go for surname type names, but they work for her DSs.

TheShellBeach · 11/05/2024 12:54

It's a surname.

Toottooot · 11/05/2024 12:54

Name for a dug - woof.

Toddlerteaplease · 11/05/2024 12:53

It's a dogs name.
