Any thoughts?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsSunshine2b · 26/03/2025 17:37

It's a tacky name which will date awfully. It's also the kind of name which sends a chill up a teacher's spine when they see it in their class list for the next year.

JillAndJenTheFlowerpotMen · 26/03/2025 17:20

I’m usually a stickler for traditional names, kings of England for boys, possibly saints, but I have always liked this one. I think it’s a good solid name and the chav accusations are unpleasant and off the mark.

Littlefish · 26/03/2025 17:17

The name is ok, the spelling is awful.

mathanxiety · 26/03/2025 17:16

And yes, as an Irish person, the jax means the loo.

mathanxiety · 26/03/2025 17:15

Jackson is nice.

There's a lot of sniffing about "American" names here, but the tradition of surnames as names is actually Scottish, and it wasn't unusual even in England in Victorian times.

I don't like Jaxon. In the US it would indicate parents who are not well educated, and probably in the UK too. It would be a shame to send a child into the world with that sort of image to live down.

JazbayGrapes · 26/03/2025 15:39

just spell it normally - Jackson

WakyWally · 23/03/2025 18:29

It sounds ok but the spelling? No. Its like a few names with weird spellings. Jole and Jaycob for instance

Sunflowergirl1 · 31/05/2024 06:30

The sort of name given to a poor child by some poorly educated mother, star struck by the stupid names given to babies by celebs.

Frankly awful

seafronty · 31/05/2024 05:49

There has never been a well behaved Jaxon or variation of. Expect them to be excluded, get a surron e bike, and just wear black head to toe. Your house will smell like weed.

zingally · 30/05/2024 14:40

That spelling is chavvy as all heck. Needs to be Jackson, if at all.

angelshine123 · 29/05/2024 21:07

Absolutely hate this name

abracadabra1980 · 18/05/2024 08:03

Chav name and spelling

RogueFemale · 18/05/2024 01:37

Chavvy.

takemeawayagain · 16/05/2024 21:10

Chav version of Jackson surely?

tuvamoodyson · 16/05/2024 21:06

Awful.

rwa818 · 15/05/2024 23:20

Horrible, if you have to at least spell it Jackson

No

Marblessolveeverything · 15/05/2024 22:59

Jax is slang for toilet here 🤦‍♀️

BirthdayRainbow · 15/05/2024 22:56

Heatedblanky · 14/05/2024 23:20

It sounds downmarket to me and I really wouldn’t do it - rightly or wrongly a huge number of people will judge him as soon as they hear his name.

Then they are stupid as it is the parents that named him. Not himself.

My friend has a baby (nearly 1) with the spelling jaxon and I love it

Cuckoochanel80 · 14/05/2024 23:09

Jacksxon?? God, some of these spellings. Why would you do this to a poor child? Wee mites will never stand a chance. Sorry but there's no excuse.

IOweMySanityToBasilParsley · 11/05/2024 11:20

@CJ0374 aah, understandable then. I did wonder how you'd got there 🤣

CJ0374 · 11/05/2024 11:13

@IOweMySanityToBasilParsley My mistake! An elderly relatives name is William but he goes by Jack. I only found out today that his 1st name is actually John with middle name William!
Ignore me OP. 😬
