What do you think? I heard this name recently and loved it.

For a girl - like Naiomi.

What’s wrong with Naomi?

Teanandtoast · 15/08/2024 17:28

I think they'll spend a lot of time saying Jaomi like Naomi

AnnunciataM · 15/08/2024 17:26

Reminds me of the sewing machine company Janome.

Purplecatshopaholic · 15/08/2024 17:25

No. Just no.

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 15/08/2024 17:24

If you’ve only heard it, are you absolutely sure it wasn’t Jamie?

lilyoflaguna · 15/08/2024 17:13

No. Perhaps Jamie would be nice, or Jasmine. But Jaiomi sounds very novel, and not in a good way...

SaintHonoria · 15/08/2024 11:24

Joanne needs a come back.

SaintHonoria · 15/08/2024 11:22

Croydon vibes.

Eejitmum101 · 15/08/2024 11:15

When I saw Junique I saw Jurlique🤣🤣

Sweetteaplease · 15/08/2024 11:11

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 15/08/2024 10:30

Junique is lovely.
So much better than Jooneek.

I quite like Junique!

Sweetteaplease · 15/08/2024 11:10

Jai = Pronounced Jay. Like "Rain, Pain". It won't be pronounced correctly

TheCadoganArms · 15/08/2024 11:05

It will look good on the Love Island contestant application form.

OlympicBlue · 15/08/2024 11:03

I actually think if pronounced like naiomi, then it’s good! All names were invented by someone at some point and not used before so who cares!

WildCherryBlossom · 15/08/2024 11:01

Jalonz pleeeease 🙏

DaisyChain505 · 15/08/2024 10:38

No, no, no.

Squirrelsnut · 15/08/2024 10:33

MrsMagoooo · 02/05/2024 20:59

That name is a Tragedeigh.

😃

MyLovelyPurse · 02/05/2024 20:07

great! Have you also considered:
Java
Jophia
Jamelia
Jarry
Jeorghe

Or other random girls’ (or boys’) names with a J added at the beginning. It’s so important to be Junique!

I know this because I have decided to be unique and edgy by having tattoos and lip fillers. I’m a rebel, me.

Junique is lovely.
So much better than Jooneek.

Pozz · 02/05/2024 21:55

Aw yes I looove Balonz!

Maybe Jalonz? It’s less common.

Jimoline · 03/05/2024 07:41

How about Jimberly, less confusion with pronunciation.

ByNewSnake · 03/05/2024 07:41

I've a friend pronounced Na-om-amy and everyone just calls her Naomi anyway

I teach in a London school. There are loads of non traditional very unusual names. No one really bats an eye anymore. We don't assume traditional names are spelt traditionally (Lillly or Jadde) and we don't really comment.
If you like the name then go for it.

I've spent my own life having to spell my name, explain how it's pronounced (the way you would think) and agree that yes it sounds very like x other name.

So my observation is that the general public are not as enlightened as your school.

OP needs to remember that her child will have to live with the name - not her.

Don't be put off by the mocking, it’s a nice name

Jimberleigh · 03/05/2024 06:33

So precious IMO!

Jimerberly · 03/05/2024 06:31

It's divine 🙂‍↔️
