Originally going to be called Jim after my granddad, but we've found out we're having a girl. Would this work?

OP posts:

I’ve just found two on Google 😱

😂😂 I didn’t know it was really a name. That’s incredible!

Cowhen · 30/04/2024 00:05

@Topsyturvy78 Thanks for the nightmares! 😁

Maybe Kimberley and have "Jamie" (feminine in US?) as a second name?

Jacqueline is such a nice name and I think is the feminine form of Jacob (via Jacques)...

Shelaydownunderthetable · 29/04/2024 23:41

The best naming thread of all time?

alwaysrootingfortheantihero · 29/04/2024 23:35

Anyone else hearing this in Victoria Wood's voice, "My friend Jimberly?" Grin

Tickytocky · 29/04/2024 23:30

Well hello @Jimberly 😂

I’m going to have to change my username and possibly my name so I can be taken seriously 🤣

Mirabai · 29/04/2024 23:34

Topsyturvy78 · 29/04/2024 23:27

This has to be a joke FFS.🤣🤣🤣

I do hope so.

Tickytocky · 29/04/2024 23:30

Well hello @Jimberly 😂

Nanaof1 · 29/04/2024 23:30

There are many girls out there with the name Jaime. FFS, use Jaime as a name, so your poor little girl can have a normal life without having to correct people every single day.

Bellesmother · 29/04/2024 23:28

This thread is hilarious! But there is a lady locally called Jimelle which is possibly the best you could hope for if you are genuinely considering incorporating Jim into your daughter's name!

CookieCrumbles23 · 29/04/2024 23:09

My Grandad was called Tim, I called my Daughter Timberly. I think it works, OP.

This has to be a joke FFS.🤣🤣🤣

minipie · 29/04/2024 23:26

Jessamyn? Jim for short.

Topsyturvy78 · 29/04/2024 23:25

No please don't I read the title and thought WTF is that about?🤣🤣🤣it's awful she'll be forever correcting people. She'll be changing her name when she's 18 like little IKEA did.😳 Why not just go for a name beginning with J? Or call her Kimberly as it rhymes with the one you suggested.

Mirabai · 29/04/2024 23:24

Can I ask if this is a serious post?

LaughterLentil · 29/04/2024 23:23

Just called her James a la Ryan & Blake

heartbroken22 · 29/04/2024 23:21

@ArmchairPhycologist 🤣🤣🤣

Mansionscoldandgrey · 29/04/2024 23:14

She'll spend her life trying to avoid telling people her name.
That'll make her a Jimmy Dodger 😁

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 29/04/2024 23:07

There is much excellent work on this thread but honestly the sincere posts are the funniest!

Jimberly · 29/04/2024 23:04

I’ve never had any trouble, friends call me Jimber for short.

Nanaof1 · 29/04/2024 23:01

VeryUnlikely · 29/04/2024 21:59

I think it's a good name. Better than Polinyx or Devereaux which are trending round here

Oh, my goodness-gracious-sakes alive! For real?

I see Polinyx and cannot help but think of Polident, the denture cleaner.😆

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 29/04/2024 20:52

I loved the Jimmigail suggestion.

Jimabelle is another classic in the making.

Oh but can you imagine year 7 French classes?
