Hi, we’re down to our final four but can’t decide! Anything we should consider regarding any of these:

Lucas
Marcus
Marius
Leo

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

When I read Lucas I say Luke-Ass. Children can be cruel and this could be something they pick on. Out of your list I like Marius most. I wanted Demitri or Demitrious for my son (after the character from A Midsummer Night’s Dream) but my husband’s sister was dating a Demitri so he vetoed the name.

I really like Marius and Leo.

Friend2023 · 01/05/2024 23:36

Lucas

Icehockeyflowers · 01/05/2024 23:22

Leo.

TodaysNameIsBoring · 01/05/2024 23:21

I love Marius. I haven't heard it for a while but that's a good thing. All are lovely names though

Daisybuttercup12345 · 01/05/2024 23:17

Leo

shoopshoopdedoo · 29/04/2024 20:38

Love Leo!

Like PP, Lucas and Marcus also give me mucus associations, though appreciate I’m in the minority! Prefer Luke and Mark.

IrisRuby · 29/04/2024 17:47

Leo

BinkyBeaufort · 29/04/2024 17:32

Leo and Lucas are both great names, so I'm glad it's not me having to decide.
The other two not so much.

Nsky62 · 29/04/2024 17:20

Lucas was my maiden name, so a no from me, Mark is nice tho

mrsed1987 · 29/04/2024 17:13

I've got a lucas. I wouldn't actually say it's that popular really but popular enough to be able to buy personalised stuff in shops lol

Sunnnybunny72 · 29/04/2024 16:51

Marcus is great.
Lucas is ok but there are a lot of them. And yes, mucus. Luke is nicer.
Don't like the others.

Monket · 29/04/2024 16:29

I think we’d go with Leonidas tbh. It was a bit of a in-joke ahead of our first son, and would be nice to come full circle in a way…

We know a Leonidas, nickname Leo. Gives the trendy name but a longer option too.

StampOnTheGround · 29/04/2024 14:44

Lucas or Leo for me!

SpaSpa · 29/04/2024 14:39

Lucas just makes me think of mucus.

Mucas Marcus.

ShakespeareInTurmoil · 29/04/2024 14:38

Lucas just makes me think of mucus.

Leo is nice

Theoldwoman · 29/04/2024 14:36

I love Leo. Short and simple, masculine and easy to spell. What’s not to love❤️

Monket · 29/04/2024 14:24

Funny you say about Marius and Le Mis - DH said the same but I’ve seen Les Mis at least twice and I had completely forgotten about Marius…

Interesting to hear Marcus is dated. We have two older DSs and they both have very unusual names, so I can’t decide whether having a Leo is a cop-out or a breath of fresh air!

OP posts:
SpaSpa · 29/04/2024 12:24

I like Luke or Lee.

Kisskiss · 29/04/2024 12:23

Lucas is nice, just extremely popular - 3 in my sons nursery right now!
leo nice too but I also know 3 toddler leos.

DramaAlpaca · 29/04/2024 12:21

I'm not sure about Marius, but the rest are good.

I'd probably choose Leo, but only because anything ending in 's' doesn't work with my surname.

Mumofgirls2017 · 29/04/2024 12:19

Marcus is a bit dated for me and Marius is nice but v French and assoc w les mis as long as you’re ok with that. Leo and Lucas are nice but v popular. Bug overall they are all fine.

Monket · 29/04/2024 10:14

neverknowinglyunreasonable · 29/04/2024 07:39

Combine all four to make Lucario?

This cracked me up.

No issues with surname or initials. DH prefers Lucas, which seems to be the winner so far! I prefer less frequently encountered names, so have reservations around Lucas and Leo.
