Final four - boy name

Hi, we’re down to our final four but can’t decide! Anything we should consider regarding any of these:

Lucas
Marcus
Marius
Leo

I have a 17 yo Lucas but pronounced Luca as he is half French so we don't pronounce the s. I was going to go for Luka so we wouldn't be saying "like Lucas but we don't pronounce the s" every single time but....my eldest also has an English/French name pronounced the French way and we/she has always had to do that too, so that makes both of them!

I like Marius , reminds me of the old show jumper from when I was quite small .

Ooh love Les Mis, so definitely a vote for Marius from me. Probably best to avoid Enjolras, much harder to pronounce.

I really like Lucas and Marcus. Think I prefer Marcus as its more unexpected.

I prefer unusual names, or at least names that aren’t anywhere near the current top 10. So because of that, Lucas and Leo would be a no for me, though they are very nice names.

I love Marius, it’s uncommon and beautiful, and has a nice rhythm to it and it doesn’t have an obvious nickname (all things that really matter to me personally).

Can I ask what the names of your other children are? I think that names of siblings should go together, but not be too similar, so that’d also influence my decision.

I think Marius is really lovely! So that is my vote.

Admittedly I'm a bit of a nerd for musical theatre, but my first thought was
"🎶Don't you fret, monsieur Marius, I don't feeeeeeel any pain..." I doubt many people are as sad as me to make that immediate connection though 😂

Marcus is my favourite, such a lovely name. Marius sounds a bit like Mario and Lucas and Leo a bit too popular imo. All good names though 👍

Lucas Mucas although I love Luke/Luca

Marcus and Leo are nice, not sure about Marius.

I Like Lucus and Leo from your list. I wanted Joseph for a boy but we have girls.
Don't like Marius sorry and I only know one Marcus and he's a sleazy 60 year old.

Not too keen on Marius but if you like it that’s really all that matters!
The other three I like, favourite is Lucas.

Considerations for me would include how it goes with surname. Long forenames tend to go better with short surnames and vice versa . I also find in awkward when a first name ends in a vowel and the surname starts with a vowel. Not a deal breaker but doesn’t trip off the tongue easily. My first name and maiden name are like that

Noo, I just think of the pop star!

Quite mixed responses. At least that suggests they’re not terrible names. We have 4 weeks left to decide, impending scheduled C section…

This cracked me up.

No issues with surname or initials. DH prefers Lucas, which seems to be the winner so far! I prefer less frequently encountered names, so have reservations around Lucas and Leo.

I chose my kids names based on the fact you didn't hear many with their names. However, wherever you go you will find people with the same name. Loads of kids I knoe have same names.

As for my vote, I say Marcus. Itd my bros name and it just rolls off the tongue nicely.
