Hello!

We are currently choosing a name for our first daughter and we have narrowed it down to Lara and Amber.

Is Lara a suitable name for England in your opinion?

I would appreciate any feedback you have on the names.

Thanks in advance

Dd was almost called Amber. As you can guess, I favour Amber.

Lara is too Lara Croft. Of course you could equally say Amber is Amber Heard.

I have no idea what you mean by 'is Lara a suitable name in England?' Why on Earth wouldn't it be?

Lara is gorgeous. I much prefer it to Amber.

@BoleynMemories13

when you're not born & brought up in a country. It's difficult to know how 'suitable' a name is.

I like them both but slightly prefer Lara!

Sorry putting way too much thought into this but on second thoughts I prefer Amber 🤣

Lara is lovely and quite popular

Amber is fine, I’m not personally keen on it

I love both Lara and Amber - great names! Personally I would probably choose Lara and it’s certainly very suitable for England! :)

Lara out of the two! But prefer Clara as another option

FayCarew · 24/04/2024 14:00

Both are fine in the UK.
Lara seems a bit nothingy and lots of shortish L names like Lyra are popular. I much prefer Laura.
Amber seems a bit 1990s but I like it and it seem to have more about it than Lara.

I had forgotten about Clara being popular. Still Team Amber here.

I prefer Lara of the two - I’m not the biggest fan of Amber. It’s definitely suitable for England!
