We are thinking of Joseph, just wondering what people's views were.

Lovely strong name, go for it.

springdayscoming · 26/04/2024 20:57

Love it

I like Joseph and Joe for short. Joey, I just think of the one in Friends who was a bit of a prat, but I don't know whether today's young kids would get that reference.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 26/04/2024 20:28

It’s a good strong classic timeless name. There’s not much to criticize about it really, is there.

shivbo2014 · 26/04/2024 20:27

Love it was very tempted! Both our dads are Joseph as well, but I don't like Joe, which he would inevitably be called probably more than Joseph.

I love this name. My cousin is Joseph and now well into his twenties and has always used his full name. The odd person at school or work would say Joe but anyone close to him knows him as Joseph. I have 2 girls but it was always on our boys name list

Oh actually, he was called pep when he used to play football as a kid

I have a Joseph it's lovely, everyone knows the name and how to spell it but it's not so popular that all his friends have the same name as him.

Theredfoxfliesatmidnight · 25/04/2024 11:26

I think it's lovely. Such a strong name. I think it's even nicer when kept as the full name rather than shortening to Joe; however saying that Joe is a great name too.

FollowTheFuckingInstructions · 25/04/2024 11:22

I've never seen a names thread with such positivity!

I love it too!

Ethnography · 24/04/2024 23:06

Love it. My grandfather was Joseph. Wish we'd chosen it for DS15. Had a traumatic birth & was too shell-shocked to call him anything so DH chose the name he's got. Having said that MIL is a batshit narcissist known by "Jo-Jo" so no doubt would've twisted my name choice to make it about her.

MillenialAvocado · 24/04/2024 22:59

I have a 3 year old Joseph, goes by Joe. Favourite boys name, of course I'm biased.

Viviennemary · 24/04/2024 22:33

I quite like it. A good traditional name that has stood the test of time.

MotherOfMonkeys0 · 24/04/2024 22:31

We have a Joseph, known as Joey by most, jojo, joseppi and jojolicious at home! We've had lots of people comment that they love the name.

RoyKentwhistle · 24/04/2024 22:18

Love it so much and it's a good name but not too popular. A timeless classic

GrumpyMiddleAgedCow · 24/04/2024 22:05

Love it! It’s DH and his dads name, everyone calls him Joe apart from me I call him Joey (not in a cute way in an inside joke way 😂) but either nicknames which IMO he will end up with are nice x

resm · 24/04/2024 22:02

One of my favourite boy’s names!

ginasevern · 23/04/2024 12:54

Love it. Classic, strong, timeless. Can be Joe and I also know one who shortens it to Zeph which I love.

Soozikinzii · 23/04/2024 11:29

Yes we have a Joseph . Love that name x

pontipinemum · 23/04/2024 11:29

Good name. I know a Joe and Jody. Both are in their 30s, not sure I know any baby Josephs

Colinfromaccounts24 · 23/04/2024 10:18

Love it. Was on the list for DD.

MuddledMadge · 23/04/2024 10:01

It's a brilliant name.

TakeOnFlea · 22/04/2024 12:02

Love it.

Sunnyday777 · 22/04/2024 12:00

I have a Joseph (Joe) and only came on this thread with a wince to see what the consensus would be. I’m delighted for all the love for the name! We love it, and he’s always Joe now and it’s not common where we live at all. There was only one in his year group of 60.

KittyCollar · 22/04/2024 11:56

My boy is Joseph. Joe. Joe Joe Rabbit (he’s 26) x
