Brother for Effie?

Just found out we are having a baby boy in September! 💙

Any name ideas to go with Effie would be really appreciated. We want something that sounds nice with Effie but also a similar popularity/a name you don’t come across all the time but also isn’t too out there.

Effie and Milo are lovely names and go really well together IMO (incidentally we have one of each in the family - one nephew and one little cousin - and yes Effie is just Effie, not short for anything!). Clearly you and my family have great taste 😆

Ignore the idiots providing unwarranted and unasked for opinions on your daughter's name, which is lovely and very cool. Just because it's a public forum and "you're going to get opinions" shouldn't give people the excuse to be rude. But sadly plenty of keyboard warriors hide on Mumsnet 🙄
I would try go for names that don't end in an ie sound for your son, some suggestions below:
Effie and Ralph
Effie and Rex
Effie and Kit
Effie and Luca
Effie and Jude
Effie and Seb
Effie and Max

where I come from it’s a proper traditional Scottish name of the pre-war generation, so I’d say something like Robert, Hector or Roderick would be congruent. If you hate them, I can see they’re not for everyone, what about Magnus?

I have an Effie. Never has she been made fun of but that's probably because kids are nicer than a lot of Mumsnet posters who think they are superior whilst posting anonymously making fun of a child's name🙄🙄🥱
Anyywayy her brother's name has been mentioned frequently on this post too so glad to know their names match (no...it's not Jeffy hilarious)

Realise you aren’t asking for comments on your daughter’s name but just wanted to say that Effie is a gorgeous name, loved it ever since Skins came out years ago! No idea why people aren’t being rude about it, there are far more ‘out there’ names than Effie. ANYWAY I think Jude was a great suggestion for a brother’s name, also love -
