Do you think it's odd to call a newborn Penelope when dog is called Penny? NN: Nel/Nellie 🐶 👶

A bit odd maybe- but if that’s the only name you love, then it’s hardly the end of the world.

But personally though I love Nell and Penny ( though Nelly makes me think elephant) - I hate Penelope. The “pee” sound at the end is too strong for me. I’d use Nell as a nn for Helena or Eleanor.

Yes. You're literally naming your DD after your dog.

I love that name. If it starts to feel weird that the dog is called penny you could use a nickname for the dog anyway.

I think it’s fine to use for your child, especially if they have different nn’s. (I love Penelope)

Penelope is not a nice name for a child irrespective of what the dog is called .

Thanks for your opinion @hattie43 ☺️ out of curiosity, what names do you like?
