DH likes it as a middle name.

Which spelling would you choose and why?

It reminds me of Beverley.
I wanted to name my daughter Layne until someone misheard it as Elaine and ruined it for me. This name is the same type of thing. Sorry.

SirChenjins · 01/04/2024 13:24

Everly - like the brothers.

Is this for a boy or girl?

user1477391263 · 01/04/2024 13:23

Everly if you must, but it’s everywhere at the moment and it reminds me of “ ‘eavily pregnant.”

BeretInParis · 01/04/2024 13:14

The insurance company is Endsleigh, if that makes any difference.

BiggerBoat1 · 01/04/2024 13:12

If you’re going to then the first spelling is better, but it’s not a name I like. I don’t like first names that sound like surnames. Each to their own though!!

I would have guessed the opposite way.

I don’t like either. Are you American?

No. Scottish
We have always been aligned with leigh bring more female
Eg. Ashleigh (girl) v Ashley (boy)

user1492757084 · 01/04/2024 12:42

I'm with Beverley too.

KirstenBlest · 01/04/2024 11:56

Everly. Not keen on it - too close to Beverley and Ever Ready.

SnowFrogJelly · 01/04/2024 10:43

Neither

Cleverly done!

penjil · 01/04/2024 01:31

Nope to both.

It's sounds like Ever Ready or Everard.

Very camp and 70s.

Houseplantmad · 31/03/2024 23:16

It IS an insurance company name, isn’t it?

That's what I thought! I'd steer clear of that spelling anyhow

NewName24 · 01/04/2024 00:09

LauderSyme · 31/03/2024 23:03

Mumsnet is probably going to tell you neither! I like Everly because the other spelling is a tragedeigh.

Yup.

I'm in the neither camp.
I don't like surnames as first names.
When I'm having to enter names on data bases, I hate it when I can't tell which name is part of the surname and which is a forename.

LongStoryLong · 01/04/2024 00:00

Beverley

Ladybird69 · 31/03/2024 23:59

Oh I love the name Everly. If I was having a daughter I’d use it as a first name.

DramaAlpaca · 31/03/2024 23:52

If you must - Everly.

TiredMum30 · 31/03/2024 23:37

SophiaRose35 · 31/03/2024 23:20
