Octavia for the reasons mentioned above by Constance

Caroline because it's my cousin's name and my mother threatened not to speak to me if I did (reason enough?)

Dearbhla (Dervla) because no bugger outside Dublin would have been able to spell it.

martini82 · 20/04/2008 09:24

pinkyminky · 02/04/2008 23:30

Alishanty- you just made me think of the Dr Seuss ABC- Little Lola Lopp I know I really should get out more..

pinkyminky · 02/04/2008 23:28

Felix and Oscar were 'the Odd Couple' - Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau
I know a man called Cosimo- fab name

girasole · 02/04/2008 18:00

Cosima and Bronwen. Love those names but had all ds's and that ship has sailed now Probably wouldn't have used Cosima for a dd in RL anyway... just love the sound of it.

Ripeberry · 02/04/2008 14:18

Harry
Jenny, just would not go with our surname!

Alishanty · 02/04/2008 14:15

Lila, Lily and Lola all too much of a mouthful with surname beginning with L.

Ruby, Maya, Scarlet out because didn't want to 'copy' friends.

Clara and Martha out due to horrible girl dp used to know and an ex-girlfriend!

vicsta · 02/04/2008 13:58

Isla -sadly surname Tyler!

pinkorblue · 02/04/2008 13:26

pinkyminky - why is that?

cyteen · 02/04/2008 12:50

hungrypanda - I used to know a girl called Juanita, and she would sometimes get called 'Juanita pizza'

MrsRecycle · 02/04/2008 10:58

Sam because we have an Ella - "Sam and Ella"

Twinkie1 · 02/04/2008 10:55

Elliot - as DD is Harriet and thought would sound weird me shouting Elliot and Harriet out in the supermarket!

DS is Maximillian - we always call him Max though just wanted him to have a 'proper' name.

dizzydixies · 02/04/2008 10:52

hungrypanda my name used in certain places/ways can actually MEAN marijuana, not that my parents knew this when they decided to use it

pinkyminky · 01/04/2008 23:56

We have a Felix so no Oscar for us

hungrypanda · 01/04/2008 23:33

I wanted to call dd1 Juana, but then I thought of her schoolmates chanting "marijuana, marijuana" so decided against it.

I liked Natalia and Jessica as well but they didn't go well with the surname.

chaoskay · 01/04/2008 22:53

My sister very nearly used 'Danger' as her son's middle name. She thought it would be great for him when he was a teenager and wanting to pull the girls.

My mum nearly had a fit. lol!

sussies · 01/04/2008 22:35

DD was distraught as she wanted to call ds Casper, but it would of made my son sound very friendly!! (can you guess what my surname is!)

twirlymum · 01/04/2008 22:21

Ds is Max, dh wanted Maximus, but we changed our mind outside the registrars office!

MrsArchieTheInventor · 01/04/2008 20:55

Lmccrean - that was very unfortunate!! You should have vetoed surnames like Logan, Hogan, Brogan and Wogan.

Lmccrean · 01/04/2008 20:03

Always loved Logan for a boy or girl..but then I got pregnant to a man (now xp) with the surname Logan.

RiaisMaLarkin · 01/04/2008 19:50

Nathaniel (DSS is Nathan)

DS3 was to be Iris, but he was a boy and it's a Spice baby name.

We considered Estel for DS2, but thought it would get stretched to Estelle

Then there was Silas for DS1...

And so many girls names but no girls Lydia, Jessie, Clemency, Nina, etc.

Fullmoonfiend · 01/04/2008 19:15

Rowan
Tallis
Willow
Seren

Gregory
Felix
Oscar
Reuben

any name ending in y or ee sound

VerJaiNah · 01/04/2008 19:12

Rainbow, but.....

kgirl · 01/04/2008 19:11

I looooove the name Horatio but MIL has made herself very clear on that name as has the SIL who hasn't and is unlikly to have any children of her own which just pisses me off even more as DH has now decided its unfair to call a child it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

twirlymum · 01/04/2008 14:14

Loved the name Summer, but dd was a winter baby
