Rosa Leigh?

Leigh would be the surname, would this sound silly or be too complicated with people getting it confused with Rosalie?

Also love Roseanne and Rosanna, would these go ok with the surname?

Also considering Cassie, Carys and Chloe.

When I saw the title I came on to reply "absolutely not, why wouldn't you just call her Rosalie?!", then saw it's your surname that's Leigh.

Rosanna (I prefer Roseanna) is the best option. Not keen on Roseanne it reminds me of the comedienne Roseanne Barr and her TV show of the same name. Rosanna/Roseanna is a lovely name.

Chloe Leigh doesn't work at all, sorry. I'd avoid most names with an ee ending. Cassandra is better than Cassie with your surname, not as twee and you could still use Cassie as a nickname.

Love the suggestion of Rosamund (Rosalind would work too).

More traditional names work better if you don't want Leigh to sound like a middle name.

Elizabeth Leigh
Charlotte Leigh
Imogen Leigh
Beatrice Leigh
Anabelle Leigh
Isabella Leigh
Josephine Leigh
Miriam Leigh
Catherine Leigh
Juliet Leigh
Helena Leigh
Philippa Leigh
Jessica Leigh
Dorothy Leigh
Arabella Leigh

etc

Maybe ..
Rosalind Leigh - Rozzi Leigh
Rosemary Leigh - Rosie Leigh
Cassandra Leigh - Cassie Leigh
Callidora Leigh - Calleigh
Henrietta Rose Leigh - Hetty Leigh

Violet Leigh - violently .. heehee.. NO

Awaywiththeferries123 · 13/03/2024 03:21

It’ll be mistaken for Rosalie, now I’m singing the Thin Lizzy song.

I think Rosalind Leigh sounds very distinguished and you can call her Rosa for short.

Sunnnybunny72 · 12/03/2024 19:02

Rosa is lovely, but a big no to Leigh.
Rosa Catherine.

The surname is Leigh.

mathanxiety · 13/03/2024 02:58

I think the potential for smutty remarks rules out Rosanna and Rosanne Leigh.

mathanxiety · 13/03/2024 02:53

Not keen on Rosa Leigh. It sounds like Rosalie.

Cassie Leigh is very nice.

Chloe Leigh has too many Ls.

Carys Leigh doesn't flow well imo.

RogueFemale · 13/03/2024 01:26

It has to be something which works with surname Leigh, and none of the Rose names work.

StoneTheCrone · 13/03/2024 01:23

Im imagining John Sykes playing his guitar while Phil Lynott sings.

a bit too close to Rosie Lee cup of tea

And gypsy rose lee

I think Cassia Leigh nn Cassie is your best bet and also v nice

Chloe Lee is too rhymey

Carys Leigh is ok

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 12/03/2024 23:33

I watched an episode of Family Guy once, and the name “Anna Lee” was a joke because of what it sounds like, so I’d maybe be wary of teenage boys making the same one (though hopefully they wouldn’t notice with Rosanna Leigh ?)

I don’t think the cup of tea/ gypsy thing is that big a deal personally and Rosalie isn’t an especially common name (although it’s increasing now, it wasn’t used very much before Twilight) - so perhaps the confusion wouldn’t happen that often?

Its a tough one as both Rose, Rosalie and Rosanna are so pretty but could maybe cause issues with your surname- but I just don’t think any of your other picks (even Roseanne) are as pretty 🤷‍♀️I really love Cassia rather than just nn Cassie if it helps though 🤣

OctaviaRedQueen · 12/03/2024 21:42

My instant thought was tea too.

StopStartStop · 12/03/2024 20:11

Rosie Lee - cup of tea.

DuchessOfSausage · 12/03/2024 20:09

@Sunnnybunny72 , Leigh is the surname.

hattie43 · 12/03/2024 19:05

MuggedByReality · 12/03/2024 18:57

Rosa Leigh sounds like a gypsy name.

This

I'd think I'd gone for a crystal ball reading .

Sunnnybunny72 · 12/03/2024 19:02

Rosa is lovely, but a big no to Leigh.
Rosa Catherine.

Nicebloomers · 12/03/2024 18:57

Rosamund Leigh nn Rosa would be my choice to side step the ‘cup of Rosie Lee’/ Rosalie problems.

MuggedByReality · 12/03/2024 18:57

Rosa Leigh sounds like a gypsy name.

IntermittentFarting · 12/03/2024 18:34

Yep, sounds like a cup of tea.

MrsMoastyToasty · 12/03/2024 17:35

I think you need a name with less of a vowel sound at the end.

How about

Rosamund Leigh
Rosalind Leigh

Moreteaandchocolate · 12/03/2024 16:54

Rosa Leigh sounds pretty but I think I’d get fed up of correcting people if it was my name. I’m not such a fan of Rosanna or Rosanne, personally.

I love the name Carys and think Carys Leigh sounds fine. I also love Chloe but not sure about the rhyming with Leigh.

Maybe a 3 syllable name works better with Leigh, e.g. Harriet Leigh or Imogen Leigh etc…?

rooftopbird · 12/03/2024 16:07

A cup of Rosie Lee is tea in rhyming slang.

Rosa Leigh sounds like a corner shop processed cake brand, sorry!

Songlines · 12/03/2024 15:27

Rosina Lee?

DuchessOfSausage · 12/03/2024 15:25

Cassie Lee is too rhymey
I don't like Carys at all
Chloe Lee doesn't flow and Chloe seems a 1990s name

Wombatsquarepoo · 12/03/2024 15:12

No thank you. I know an Emma Lee, she hated being called Emily and having to constantly tell people her name is just Emma and her last name is Lee.

I like Carys Leigh out of your list

Fibble · 12/03/2024 15:06

I thought of a 'cup of rosie lee' too. Not a massive deal I suppose.
