Is Linda due a comeback?

My aunt is called Linda (nn Linny) and I just love it. It kind of fits with the trend for old fashioned names but is it not old fashioned enough yet?

Tbh I haven't checked it's position on the baby names ranking...I've never heard of a baby Linda/Linny though. Yep, there were only 18 baby Lindas in 2020 so not popular!

I really like Lin names so sure why not?

Other options would be Linnea, Linnet or Lynette.

Linny is such a cute nickname.

I don't think it's going to get popular for children for a long time.

However, there is nothing terrible about it. There are old names that I love, that the masses don't like.

However, having said that I do wonder how your daughter might feel, having a name that is unpopular for her generation and shared by a lot of her peers' grannies!

For this reason I have put the currently unpopular names that I love in the middle name spot.

To me it still sounds a little old fashioned. I like the meaning - it means beautiful in Spanish/Portuguese. It's quite nice.

I think it’s a pretty name but it has strong middle age associations for me at the moment - although that would probably change as soon as I met a baby Linda!
