Dh suggested it, I can't make up my mind if I like it or not.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
KirstenBlest · 01/03/2024 14:15

It's a bit long. Fliss is ok, but I don't like Flick.

minimidge · 01/03/2024 14:08

I think it is a lovely name. Nick names can be nice too, and there is a wide range to choose from. Ellie, Lei, Lissy, Lis, Tiffy, Tif, Fizzy, and many more besides

maudelovesharold · 01/03/2024 10:20

For no explicable reason I also think it sounds prissy and smug!

Have to agree with this. I think it’s a nice name but it sends out a message that I would not want for my DD.

DontGiveADuck · 01/03/2024 13:35

Love it.

SunnieShine · 01/03/2024 13:28

Not keen. It sounds jarring to me.

MKWarrier · 01/03/2024 13:26

I love it, and love the meaning. It was on our list for DD2 but we have decided against it as we don’t like the short versions.

ShoesoftheWorld · 01/03/2024 13:09

Lovely name, great meaning. Interestingly, if you'd asked 5 years ago you would have got a few replies saying 'horsey/posh', but there don't seem to be any on this thread, which suggests it's lost that 'feel', prob with rising popularity.

BeretInParis · 01/03/2024 12:55

I love it. So feminine and with a lovely meaning too.

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 01/03/2024 12:44

I like it,

Dontdeclutterthemagic · 01/03/2024 11:13

I like it, I know a few who are Liss, Flick and Fizz day to day.

Inexplicably, I like Felicity but really dislike Felix.

Onelife2024 · 01/03/2024 11:01

I really like it, but it’s a 4 syllable name that doesn’t have a “grown up” formal short version, imo, which means that for work you’re stuck with either using the full name (which I would find a bit long and fussy for everyday use) or short versions that sound a bit informal for work (Fliss, Flick, Lissy etc)

Neverpostagain · 01/03/2024 10:38

I really like it, but alway wonder if the child might not live up to the virtue names.

Fundays12 · 01/03/2024 10:35

I am not a fan sorry but it's definitely individual in the sense it's not over used.

monty09 · 01/03/2024 10:35

It's a beautiful name, I have a felicity, family call her flick friends call her fliss.

DarlingClementine85 · 01/03/2024 10:33

To be honest I don't like it. It sounds a little fussy and the nicknames aren't attractive. The Felicitys I know are Flick, Flea and Floss. All of those are nouns for unpleasant things in my mind.

CroccyWoccy · 01/03/2024 10:29

It was our choice had we had a girl. I liked the range of nicknames available.

WaitingForMojo · 01/03/2024 10:28

I love it.

DiscoBeat · 01/03/2024 10:27

I love Felicity. And Fliss too.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 01/03/2024 10:27

It’s a lovely name. It mean happiness and good fortune, which I wish for your daughter.

NoSnowdrop · 01/03/2024 10:26

Yes it’s a lovely name and like PP said not too out there yet quite unusual.

Rosesanddaisies1 · 01/03/2024 10:24

I think it's lovely but I am not sure I like 'Fliss' as a short version

munchmagic · 01/03/2024 10:24

I love the name Felicity. My husband loved it too and wanted to use it when we found out we were having a girl. Unfortunately it does not sound nice in our local accent and I knew that would bug me and him, so we went with something else. But it really is a very pretty name and we loved the meaning very much.

Riverlee · 01/03/2024 10:21

Really nice. Everyone knows it, it’s not over popular, but it’s not weird or wacky.

maudelovesharold · 01/03/2024 10:20

marshmallowfinder · 01/03/2024 10:15

I think it sounds prissy and not at all nice.

For no explicable reason I also think it sounds prissy and smug!
