Torn between 3 names for son

Hi,

my wife and I have been going round in circles with our future son's name. We are pretty set on one of Cassius, Titus and Ferdinand, but as the due date approaches we seem no closer to deciding. Any thoughts on any of these? Or dare I ask any other names in a similar vein (only caveat is they have to work in german and english). For context we have a Maximilian and an Ottilie already.

Thanks so much

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'd go for Cassius.
Titus is odd .
My first thought of Ferdinand was "Ferdinand the Bull" which I think is an old cartoon character (not sure yet "Bull" still instantly popped into my head).

I really like Cassius. I think it goes well with your other children’s names and cass is a cool nickname.

Titus sounds like tight -
Titus gitus etc

I would steer clear of Ferdinand is it had negative connotations which links your baby to Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand, who is arguably responsible for starting WW1. I adore the name Cassius as it rolls off the tongue smoothly

I don't think this would be an association for many. It is lovely.

I think Cassius goes with your other 2 the best & if you're living in the UK his name will get shortened & I like Cass the most

We like Cass and Ferdi - Titus probably wouldn't get shortened

Not shortened by you maybe but what about other people over the course of his life?

Comedycook · 21/02/2024 10:54

Lysander?

KnittingKnewbie · 21/02/2024 10:54

What about Cassian?

Do you prefer Cass, Ti/Tit or Ferdi?

Ferdinand is great, probably best to veto a name that starts with Tit.

Actually, edited to add that I think Ferdinand is REALLY good. Unusual, with good NN potential.

Not Titus

Ferdinand is great! Strong and intelligent sounding, I think
