Sister for winter.

Our 2yo DD is called Winter and her little sister is due in May and we are struggling with names. We have a few we like but can't decide on one. So not sure if just haven't come across the perfect name yet. We mostly like names that aren't too common, or too uncommon, so somewhere in the middle. Nature themed, whimsical names we like the most. Our list so far is:

Astrid
Dahlia
Ophelia
Nova
Lilith
Juniper
Pandora (least favourite)
Arabella

From your list, Juniper.

But I actually really like May with Winter.

Samzzz · 21/02/2024 15:16

My little girl is also called Winter. If we ever had another daughter then Shiloh is at the top of our list.

Ecnerual · 20/02/2024 20:16

Astrid works really well with Winter.

Or:
Rowan
Laurel
Emerald

Babla · 20/02/2024 10:53

Spring?

OolongTeaDrinker · 20/02/2024 10:34

From your list I like Juniper the best.

Other suggestions:

Ruby
Hazel
Calluna
Tabitha
Cordelia
Lumi
Artemis

I love Dahlia said as dah-lia but I really hate it said as day-lia. It was on our list but I didn’t want the pronunciation issues. Love Juniper but the er sound at the end doesn’t flow well with Winter. Astrid is great too.

Brooke and Faye both go well with Winter if your open to suggestions.

I have a Dah-lia and I've had no issues with pronouncing but I live up north so I don't know if that makes a difference.

I recently heard a little girl named Lavender and thought it was gorgeous. It seems to fit with your other names too.

Some other suggestions:
Eden
Clover
Rue
Wren
Sage
Pearl

It has to be Summer, it will be a nice set of sister names ☺️

Babla · 20/02/2024 01:04

Summer?

CuteCillian · 20/02/2024 00:50

Storm

Babyboomtastic · 20/02/2024 00:47

I'd avoid Summer as everyone will be a little confused as May is a spring month. At least that's why it jarrs with me. People would also start asking about babies 3 and 4 to compete the year.

I quite like Astrid
Or Lilith

TheOriginalEmu · 20/02/2024 00:26

Lilith is great!

BungleandGeorge · 19/02/2024 23:18

I really like Pandora. Other than that I think juniper goes well

SaulHudsonDavidJones · 19/02/2024 23:13

I adore Lilith and Arabella was also on our list along with Ariella.

OrderOfTheKookaburra · 19/02/2024 23:02

Or Lyanna...

OrderOfTheKookaburra · 19/02/2024 23:00

I love Game of Thrones, and with a name lien Winter, couldn't her sister be called Arya?

PickledScrump · 19/02/2024 22:11

I love Dahlia said as dah-lia but I really hate it said as day-lia. It was on our list but I didn’t want the pronunciation issues. Love Juniper but the er sound at the end doesn’t flow well with Winter. Astrid is great too.

Brooke and Faye both go well with Winter if your open to suggestions.

I love most of your shortlist, they’re lovely names.

Also like Ivory, Wren and Willow.

AstorianPlease · 19/02/2024 21:47

My daughters name is Dahlia so I'm biased haha but I also like Lilith and Juniper
