I have friends who named their son Austin Danger at which point I gave up trying to figure out how other people make these important decisions

Naming a child is a very daunting task for me but others must find it all a bit humorous.

The best part is that everyone is entitled to their own opinion about names. The worst part is that it is the baby and later child that bears the name that will be teased and judged by the 'tag'.

Like so many things in this life: I don't get it...

No, but having chosen them, you are hardly in a position to tut over anyone else choosing names in a similar vein!

A friend of mine has an Apollos. Maybe they should consider that if they have any more.

Why 'ffs' for Isis and Merlin as opposed to Isis and Delphi?

I pity poor Caesar Augustus, imagine the disappointment if the biggest thing he ends up running is a corner shop...

isis is a river in oxford, and an egyptian goddess of fertility and 'everything'. and my daughter. I know obscurely of an isis with a brother called Merlin (ffs). My Isis has a sister called Delphi, and they are both really rather lovely.

I know an Isis - her older brother is called Tiger FFS.

The two eldest girls' names sound like porn names. The eldest son's name is going to haunt him forever if he can't get laid. I actually like Isis, and wanted it for my DDs, but DH said that Isis is some kind of spooky Egyptian goddess (who possibly transports people across the Styx? can't remember...), so it didn't seem right, and the youngest son, well he'd better join the army.
