Hi

Our daughter is due next month and we can’t decide on a name at all. I would be so grateful if you could please give me your opinions on these -

Eve
Eva
Sophia
Imogen
Emmeline
Amelie
Elodie
Emilia

Emmeline has always been a favourite (nn em/emmy) but I’m starting to second guess myself - will I be constantly correcting the pronunciation (‘leen’ not ‘line’) or people hearing Emily?

Same concern with Emilia/Amelie - will I be constantly correcting for Amelia/Emily?

TIA!

Lovely name choices! I like them all!

My personal favourite is Imogen - it’s a lovely name that isn’t overused or dated to any particular decade, and I like “Immy” too.

Eve / Eva - gorgeous names - simple, nice for all ages. Quite overused at the moment when you add together all the Evelyn’s, Evie’s, Eve’’s, Eva’s, Ava’s etc, if that matter to you?

Sophia - I really like this. I know it’s very popular at the moment on the name charts, but I personally only know of one, so maybe it depends on area.

Emmeline / Amelie / Emilia - I’m a big fan of all of these - beautiful and not overused. As you say the only disadvantage Is the mishearing for “Emily” and how much that matters to you.

Elodie - a lovely name too - not overused and very pretty, suits all ages. She can be Ellie as a short version, which is quite overused (if that matters to you?)

Thanks so much!

I love Emma too and it was on the list, but middle name will be Louise (nod to a family member) so I think it might be a bit too late 80s/early 90s?!

I really like Emma.
But from your list I like Sophia. Imogen Elodie, Amelie and Emilia.
I hear lots of Eve/Eva’s.
