Sister for Noah

I just cannot seem to love any girls name. I'm not sure what it is. Boys names easy. Girls names impossible.

Criteria
2 syllables ideally
4 or 5 letters
As close being unshortenable as possible (like Noah)

I was always set on Matilda and it does go against the above. But I'm worried it will be shortened.

Just to add, due to the job I do I come across A LOT of people. So quite a number of names I write off because of that negative association.

Funnily enough when I read the title the name Rosie popped in my head, so I’d definitely go Rose Matilda.

@helloitsmeyourlookingfor no worries. This is a good challenge! How about:

Viola, Sally, Niamh, Aoife, Misha, Zelda, Tegan, Megan, Luisa, Celia, Fiona, Zadie, Irina, Alexa, Petra, Eleri, Anwen, Aimee, Ariel, Lowri, Elora, Marta, Anika, Salma, Arwen, Margo, Sasha, Ember, Raven, Zion, Sian, Suki, Rumi, Sage, Elva, Juno.

Alternatively, these don't fit your criteria but I'm wondering if you might prefer a name more associated with boys as you seem to struggle with liking girl names? Names like:
Addison, Brynn, Bailey, Cody, Drew, Dylan, Elliot, Emerson, Jude, Jamie, London, Morgan, Quinn, Riley, Rowan, Sutton, Spencer, Taylor

SleepingStandingUp · 02/02/2024 14:03

For what it's worth,y friends 5 yo Matilda is still Matilda. It might get shortened by mates as she grows up but not so far

The four Noah's I know with sisters have the siblings;

Amelia
Rosie
Poppy
Stella

Also re nicknames, they'll get one anyway! It's a bonding thing that's important to creating in and outside groups!

@Foreverdancing Alice to me just looks like A Lice.... Or I end up singing Alice the camel had 5 humps from my brownie days!

Why did you do this to me? I loved Louisa until someone told me it sounds like a good name for a laxative Loo Easer.

I’ve never noticed the A-Lice before. Now I can’t unsee it. Went off the name Violet for the same reason, when someone said they always see it as Violent (by adding an N.

(and now will be singing Alice the camel all day, I was a sprite).
