Floral middle name for Ida

Looking for a floral/flowery middle name for DD2. Her first name will be Ida.

DD1’s middle name is Primrose.

Iris and Rose are ruled out.

I don’t like popular flower names like Poppy or Lily.

We had considered Olive as a back up, but I’d prefer a flower name like DD1 has.

Please inspire me, she’ll be here in 5 weeks!

Ida Lily, Ida Poppy.
My nana is an Ida May. Love the name simple, elegant and definitely not over used. ✨️

Fleur?

Astilbe

Not sure it fits the remit but the first thing that came to my mind was Bell. So Ida Belle? I like the single syllable, although
I think any of the ones that don't end in y fit better too. So Ida Peony feels a bit much to me but Ida Jasmine or Ida Heather both sound more solidly like names.

maudelovesharold · 31/01/2024 21:43

I think Ida Lilian sounds lovely. Not strictly a flower, but flower-like!

Amazinggrace89 · 31/01/2024 21:39

Love Ida
i think a name in the middle is a bit sounding like ‘i had a’ poppy
for instance.
Ida daphne is lovely

OctaviaRedQueen · 31/01/2024 21:37

Ah it’s a shame you don’t like Lily as I think this is the prettiest.

Ida Lily sounds like a film star!

A relatively plain name like Ida doesn't go with very flowery names, is the problem here. You'd be better to go with a nature inspired name that's not a flower, like Juniper or Rowan or Willow.

Pacifybull · 31/01/2024 21:14

Vinca
Viola
Bryony
Tulip
Tansy

When my Ida was very small there were a couple of times we smiled after saying 'I'm going to put Ida down now...'

But not something that comes up now she's 10!

Have to regularly correct people who mishear it as Isla.

It's a fab name.

KirstenBlest · 31/01/2024 20:56

Ida sounds like 'I had a' so Ida Posy or something sounds like Ida Posy sometime in the past.
I'd go for something that's not an obvious noun or adjective.

SallyWD · 31/01/2024 20:55

Ida is an excellent choice of name. I love it and it's really under used too.

I love Ida Violet

Not a flower but "down" or "thoughtso" would be perfect.

Grow up.
