I am so stuck. I have girls' names galore, please give me nice slightly arty boys' names that won't get hugely popular in a year or two

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FrannyandZooey · 17/03/2008 09:33

you are on the right track MrsC
but a lot of these are big old ponce names aren't they?

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 17/03/2008 09:33

I am just browsing
avi said (about 10 pages ago) hurry up and CHOOSE
but I am just mulling it over
I will decide when it is born

harpsichordcarrier · 17/03/2008 09:30

this is going to be like one of those skirt threads isn't it?
56 pages of suggestions and you choose one for the third post
not suggesting new baby is like monsoon skirt, of course

belgo · 17/03/2008 09:29

Caspar or Caspian then (I've heard of a Caspian)

FrannyandZooey · 17/03/2008 09:27

we did like asher but have gone off a bit
not sure on Cassian - sounds a bit like hessian

OP posts:
MrsJohnCusack · 17/03/2008 09:26

oh ok surname is not what I thought it was then

Cassian

oh I dunno

Buda · 17/03/2008 09:25

Haven't read all the thread- 33 pages?????

Asher?

FrannyandZooey · 17/03/2008 09:23

yes I think saints is a good idea
I want one I have heard of though

you know this thread is skating close to the edge as people are COMMENTING on names I like and may well choose

I won't forget Avi hates Blaise if I ever use it, for instance

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 17/03/2008 09:22

I don't think we could pull of something Italian

or pet rock Petroc

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrier · 17/03/2008 09:22

Adrio?
have you tried looking at lists of Saints?
that is a rich source of poncy unusual names

harpsichordcarrier · 17/03/2008 09:20

this is why I am so keen on Petroc - this guy just has the most delicious voice ever
I have the same problems with my surname franny.

harpsichordcarrier · 17/03/2008 09:18

Lucien is fine, isn't it?
I think it is the soft S
what about Italian names?
Luca?
Alessio?

FrannyandZooey · 17/03/2008 09:18

actually I think I may just need a new SURNAME
then I could have loads of names! hoorah

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 17/03/2008 09:17

yup 'en' and 'on' names not always great
Lucien seems ok for some reason - do you think so HC? Lucien XXXXXX?

blue is a dog's name surely
it's better than pet rock though

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrier · 17/03/2008 09:16

oh go on, what about Petroc
(PMSL at Arlen with surname)

MrsJohnCusack · 17/03/2008 09:15

Franny - I'm sure you'll come up with a name that you both love - dh and I never had a boy's name that we agreed upon, so it's just as well we had two girls! But now finally we have come up with a boy's name that we both love, will go well in english and flemish and sounds great with dh's surname, so Im' really happy

FrannyandZooey · 17/03/2008 08:30

and it isn't me that likes OT names, it's dp

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 17/03/2008 08:29

LOLOL at pet rock
sorry Dickon is a little Seth-ish for me

I still like Arlo but none of these are CLICKING, I need a hallelujah moment

OP posts:
Aitch · 17/03/2008 00:07
