I am so stuck. I have girls' names galore, please give me nice slightly arty boys' names that won't get hugely popular in a year or two

Blaise makes me think of Modesty Blaise
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modesty_Blaise or an American soap character.

what about Blake?

msappropriate · 16/03/2008 15:11

I have a friend whose son is called Xan (short for Alexander) and whilst there are a few Xanders have never met another Xan.

pointedegg · 16/03/2008 15:06

ah, you are right, trolley. Lucien is the nice twin, Wayne is the horrible one.

Lucien is described as an 'eco-loser' on wiki.

pointedegg · 16/03/2008 15:04

Dasher
Blitzen
Cupid
Donner

HonoriaGlossop · 16/03/2008 14:54

I think Lucien looks nice. I often associate names/words with colours; and I see Lucien as fair-haired and Lucian as dark-haired for some reason

FrannyandZooey · 16/03/2008 13:47

LOL at tiny mouth
unlikely in this family

sorry Tatties, you're right of course
I do prefer Lucien though, not sure why

OP posts:
Tatties · 16/03/2008 13:28

It is Lucian Freud

But you can spell it Lucien if you like

Boco · 16/03/2008 13:28

Nash is setting him up for big jaw and large teeth. What if he wants a tiny mouth?

tinylady · 16/03/2008 13:12

Boco, we have exquisite taste
It IS a good name
Much better than Blaise, for example

ahundredtimes · 16/03/2008 13:10

Wolfgang is okay. Wolfie is setting you up to be wolf-like I suppose, and what if you want to not be Wolf like, with a grin and a shabby coat, but actually want to be Beau Nash or someone.

ooh - Beau or Nash.

Nash is a good name.

FrannyandZooey · 16/03/2008 13:07

tiny I am sure there is room for two wolfgangs in the country

OP posts:
Boco · 16/03/2008 13:07

hooray for tinylady. It's a good name.

tinylady · 16/03/2008 13:06

I love Wolfgang, Wolf for short please don'e ust it its my next child's name

Boco · 16/03/2008 13:03
Sad
FrannyandZooey · 16/03/2008 13:02

asking for what?

I am not really going to do Wolfie, but it's amusing me like it is Boco

Gideon makes me think of the bible

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 16/03/2008 12:59

Gideon

ahundredtimes · 16/03/2008 12:58

Blaise and Leander are asking for it imho. Gil is nice, I agree. Wolfie is one of those 'we are setting you up' names.

Actually, you don't need to know my opinion do you? Ooh, but you have a shortlist Missus, that's something.

FrannyandZooey · 16/03/2008 12:50

I like Dante, Blaise, Lucien and Wolfie, and Leander, and maybe Gil

I don't like Clem, or Clement (agree zippi, only Freud I like is Lucien) or Blaze, or Ned, or Stanley
