We need a girl's name beginning with D ...

because our names begin with A and B - and then entirely unintentionally, we called DS a name beginning with C.

Front runners are Dorothy and Dorothea at the moment.

What do you think?

I always wanted to call our dd2 dylan - I know its more widely considered a boys name but I loved it for a girl.

The Hon Enid, glad we're not the only ones!

DH is settling on Daphne. It has all sorts of connotations for me, so I'm just not sure.

To me, it sounds like someone:

  • fragile
  • pale with blonde hair
  • classbound rather than classless (cf, Tarquin and Tom)

What do you think?

You could always break the trend and go for another letter. Why restrict yourself to name you might not like just to get in line with the Alphabet?

please go against Deborah - it is my name and a nightmare - I am always getting it spelt wrong or abbreiviated into things I hate like 'Debbie' (no offence to any Debbies on here, its just not a name I like to be called)
