I heard this name recently and thought it was pretty. What does everyone think?

All names are made up.

I like it, makes a change from the overused Amelias, Olivias and Charlottes.

Well if you like it, use it. Ignore a random stranger on the internet!

Otters are cool af tho.

sanityisamyth · 05/09/2024 09:00

Sounds like a curry house.

Mumistiredzzzz · 05/09/2024 04:14

Reminds me of catarrh
Catarrh is a build-up of mucus in your nose and sinuses and phlegm in your throat.

randoname · 05/09/2024 02:57

As pp have said it’s a bit out there.
But it’s similar to a lovely name, Talitha.

Alongthepineconetrail · 05/09/2024 02:45

Or Tarka daahl

Daisybuttercup12345 · 04/09/2024 21:34

Sounds like Tarka the otter.

Adarajames · 15/08/2024 23:28

I taught in London schools, with the huge variety of cultures / names, wouldn’t raise any eyebrows here really

SeatonCarew · 15/08/2024 18:55

No, it's horrid.

CurlewKate · 15/08/2024 18:28

Takara Jaoimi. Hmm

KirstenBlest · 15/08/2024 17:59

Thanks. I'm sure it's lovely in Japanese, assuming it is a name. Would it be for a girl?

lilyoflaguna · 15/08/2024 17:54

KirstenBlest · 15/08/2024 17:44

What language is it and how do you say it? Is it Tack-A-ra or TACK-a-ra or something else?

In my language (Japanese) it is very flat sound. Not much intonation at all. Just Ta-ka-ra but I understand the English urge to add intonation.

lilyoflaguna · 15/08/2024 17:14

It means "treasure" in my home language...very nice, but it might be confusing for westerners.

Temporaryname158 · 05/01/2024 21:16

I know a Takara, I’ve always liked the name and she’s a wonderful, intelligent and fun person

SunnyFog · 05/01/2024 21:06

I haven't heard of it before. I'd assume it's a cultural name.

gotomomo · 02/12/2023 17:28

It's a Japanese name meaning precious object. Not particularly mainstream but there's a toy company called it.

If you google it says it's particularly associated with the Ryūkyū Islands.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 02/12/2023 17:25

Awful. Trying too hard to be unique.

viques · 02/12/2023 16:22

Should be OK, unless your surname is Otter…..

TheNinthLock · 02/12/2023 14:18

My first thought was car - The all new Ford Takara….

You're right that it's a car, but Mazda not Ford. We had a Mazda 5 Takara once.

WhileMyDishwasherGentlyWeeps · 02/12/2023 16:01

Would it be Takara Kobayashi or Takara Sidebottom?

Makes a difference.
