Sibling for Daisy

firsttimem · 22/10/2023 15:57

Looking for a baby girls name. Our daughter is called Daisy with the middle name James.

Current shortlist is
Charlotte
Penelope (Penny)
Alice
Juliette - unsure of this in our Scottish accent
Lola - husband thinks this is a dogs name
Pippa - husband doesn’t like this either

We still really like floral names such as Poppy/Rosa/Rosie but worry it’s a bit much having two floral names.

My eldest is Daisy and her sister is called Willow.

Daisy's middle name is Florence which I think goes well with it too. Willow's middle name is Rose.

Other options: Poppy, Scarlett, Violet, Iris.

PurBal · 26/10/2023 19:57

What about Iris?

SayingwhatIreallythink · 26/10/2023 19:54

Why James as a middle name for your first dd? Is it a family surname?

DesertSnow · 26/10/2023 19:29

Alice or Charlotte from your list. Why not give her a flower middle name instead? I like Mabel Rose.

Indiseven · 24/10/2023 05:52

From your list I love both Charlotte and Alice.

Also:

Daisy and Violet
Daisy and Rose
Daisy and Florence

Overall winner would be Charlotte though!

Daisy and Charlotte
or
Daisy and Alice

MaloneMeadow · 22/10/2023 22:21

Charlotte - Gorgeous, would be one of my top choices if I had another DD! Timeless and elegant. Love the nickname Lottie

Penelope (Penny) - Penelope is lovely but a bit of a mouthful for everyday. Really don’t like Penny as a nickname so that would put me off

Alice - Nice, no real nickname opportunities though

Juliette - A beautiful name but a bit dated for a child

Lola - I like it but have to agree with your husband! Would be lovely for now but a bit childish when she gets older

Pippa - Such a pretty name, another I heavily considered. We are a horsey family so the meaning in English really appeals. Unsavoury meanings in other languages though and one of DD’s friends named Pippa being made fun of and called Peppa Pig for years put me off!

goalgrey · 22/10/2023 20:23

I love just Penny (instead of Penelope)
Or another flower name would be cute.

Daisy and Jasmine? Lily?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 22/10/2023 20:17

Daisy and
Eliza.
Emily.
Freya.
Poppy.
Lily.
Violet.
Molly
Summer (Mind you I'm assuming she won't be born in the Summer). Perhaps Winter or Autumn depending on her birth season.
Heidi.
Nancy.
Ivy.
Imogen.
Mabel.
Sienna.
Millie.
Cassie.
Eva.
Rosa.
Isabelle.
Clara.
Amber
Ruby.
Willow.
Olive.

Bryony

pipindressup · 22/10/2023 19:34

Don't use Marigold it represents grief and morning in language of flowers.

Daisy is very sweet and girly.
flower names are nice but you will have a theme going ( I know a few families with multiple flower names children) .
If you want to avoid that go for something that complements Daisy but is different.
Lucy
Katie,
Jane
Jemima
Clara
Tabitha
Matilda
Elsa
