Nooooo
Angel Clare, what a bastard

YourLocal · 03/03/2024 21:17

Please don’t do that to ur child. Name is horrible it gives out teacher’s pet vibes and imagine if he isn’t like that 😭

BCBird · 02/03/2024 13:10

Have come across one now called this but pronounced as An gel rather than Angel. It must be annoying for him that he constantly has to.vorrect pronunciation

Seashor · 08/02/2024 20:48

I have a cousin with this name but he’s Spanish and lives in Madrid. It’s pronounced Ankle. It doesn’t work as a name in the UK.

Member869894 · 06/02/2024 12:10

Just awful

ShadowPlaying · 06/02/2024 12:09

Unless Latin American or similar, best not to.

SummaLuvin · 31/01/2024 16:14

wish mumsnet would just lock this thread, the constant revivals are excessive

Berriesofruby · 31/01/2024 16:04

Not in England I don't think.

Samzzz · 30/01/2024 19:54

I actually quite like it but unfortunately most people aren’t as open minded and Angel is considered a girl name in the UK.

timoteigirl · 28/01/2024 17:07

Humans are not angels. Seraphine, Evangeline, Michael etc are angel's names.

Do you WANT him to be bullied???

Honestly I would hope there would be enough people now who would teach their kids not to be close minded enough to bully a kid for their name.

this “asking for them to be bullied” attitude is disgusting and embarrassing imo.

anyway, this is an old thread and we went with Ruari in the end.

For a baby or a cat ?

Hi all, just wanted to say thanks for suggestions. Still love it but we settled for Ruari (DSD is Irish so he will be delighted)

… still tempted as a middle name though!

Ruari is lovely! Angelo as the middle name maybe?

Marcipex · 25/01/2024 20:44

I know of a boy called Angel. He is hideously bullied in the local comprehensive and spends much of his time crying.
Don't do it to your child.

CallieQ · 14/11/2023 00:47

Nooooooo

Startyabastard · 13/11/2023 15:17

Gabriel is nice but probably not what you're looking for

Tbh setting boy up for life of misery every time his name is called on the register.
Angel = no
Angelo= yes

Well it’s a good job we went with Ruari then

I know a male Angel, not sure if I would chose it as a name for a boy or a girl but I’m sure there are a few probably named after a certain vampire.

Custardcream1985 · 25/10/2023 11:14

There’s a lovely little boy at my DDs school who is called Eden. It works :-)

SquishingWell · 24/10/2023 20:12

@Custardcream1985 thats funny actually because I love the name Eden but see it as more of a girl name

KnickersOfDoom · 24/10/2023 18:28

Angelo

Custardcream1985 · 24/10/2023 18:24

Have you considered Eden? It has a similar tone to Angel but is more commonly considered a unisex name I think.
