I don't know where I stand on this one- I like like Finn as a nick name but I'm not sure if Finlay itself is a bit common. It's on hubbie's list at the moment, and I'm trying to decide.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Finlay and Finley are both top-60 names in England and Wales (far more popular in Scotland). It's up to you whether that's within your personal comfort zone of popularity.

If it's Finn you particularly like, you could just go with Finn as the given name, or use

Finbar
Fingal
Finnegan
Finnian
Fintan

or perhaps even Griffin
