Would it be wrong to have a Ruby AND a Millie?

As in the make-up brand?

We have a Millie and love the name Ruby.

Are they too similar and would you have them as siblings dispite the make-up brand? >>>

I suppose it's not like having Laura and Paige, atleast it's a more expensive brand

"Btoh sill y names imo" says the fish whose kids are called plaice, monkfish and lobster.

southeastastra · 28/02/2008 22:28

millie isn't a name

dizzydixies · 28/02/2008 22:28

you could always have ruby fionn (pn Finn) if you like it that much

Fionn means little blonde one so depends on what you think?

dizzydixies · 28/02/2008 22:27

ok one syllable middle names

I have an Ella Rose and Lexie Rae so

Rose
Rae
Joy
Mae
Sue
Lee/Leigh
Blue (not everyone's taste but I like it)
hope
Jean

ruby Jean - brilliant
ruby Kate
ruby kit

they're my favorites, the last 3!

theyoungvisiter · 28/02/2008 22:26

Ruby Sue is nice I think. (Maybe mental associations with Looby-Loo now I think of it).

Or how about:
Ruby May
Ruby Kate

Or you could go all Kaiser Chiefs and just have Ruby Ruby Ruby Ruby.

MillieMooMoo · 28/02/2008 22:23

thanks princess. I LOVE the name Finley! Always have done, but now one of my best friends has a Finley so I could never steal his name now!

btoh sill y names imo

We were always going to have a Ruby (Dh's fave name) and a Millie (which was my fave name). We ended up with a ds (Finley) and I now have a niece called Milly so it looks pretty unlikely. They are both lovely names and most people won't make the connection.

MillieMooMoo · 28/02/2008 22:21

Good point choosy! If anyone asked what my children were called, I could just say it the other way around

Thanks

Now, Millie's middle name is Eve, and I'd quite like a single syllable name to put with Ruby.
So, since you've all been so helpful so far, could you suggest some middles names to go with Ruby which only have one syllable please?

Thanks for your replies ladies. It's nice to have honest answers from strangers

Well, since Millie is the older one and it will be Millie and Ruby, I would think you're fine. I know what you mean though...

MillieMooMoo · 28/02/2008 22:18

tyv - I probably could deal with it yes.
Just pondering about it a lot recently.
Am only 15 weeks though so plenty of time to decide once and for all!

I think a lot of people would not even have heard of the makeup, particularly men!
Both nice names

MillieMooMoo · 28/02/2008 22:16

LMAO! I know, I'm just being a bit paranoid about what people might say

My dh has NO IDEA about this make-up brand So he cant talk me out of it

OP posts:
theyoungvisiter · 28/02/2008 22:16

well, you could do worse, but it is quite a co-incidence, so people might think you named them after the makeup brand! Could you live with that?

dizzydixies · 28/02/2008 22:15

like them both, sod it, there are worst things to be called
bill and ben
chaz and dave
jordan and peter
posh and becks
