Which middle name for Rosa

Busted2006 · 10/08/2023 20:55

First name is 100% set so not asking for opinions on it.

We are just stuck with the middle name.

Eliza - not sure if the double "z" sound is too much but we love the meaning
Emilia (too spanish when paired with Rosa)- the meaning isn't great but I like how it sounds

Last name is quite common, long English surname so anything goes with it really.

Could you have Rosa Elizabeth? Is Elizabeth what the original Eliza was called at birth?

I know a Rosa Niamh, which I really like, but not sure you'd want to go for the Irish spelling if no Irish connection. Maeve?

mathanxiety · 14/02/2025 03:51

Sorry, misread about Eliza. I still like it more than Emilia.

mathanxiety · 14/02/2025 03:49

I think a lot of people will insert that R sound between Rosa and any middle name beginning with a vowel. (Rosareliza).

How about two middle names if Eliza is a family name you'd like to honour?

Rosa Katherine Eliza
Rosa Madeleine Eliza
Rosa Penelope Eliza
Rosa Beatrix Eliza
Rosa Hermione Eliza
Rosa Juliet Eliza
Rosa Charlotte Eliza
Rosa Harriet Eliza
Rosa Felicity Eliza
Rosa Phoebe Eliza

@Busted2006 I’d put a name between Rosa and Eliza.. Rosa Grace Eliza actually sounds pretty good I think!

I love the name Rosa. I prefer Rosa Emilia to Rosa Eliza, but I wonder if Rosa Emilia Long Surname would be a bit of a mouthful.

How about:

Rosa Joy
Rosa Luz

The only name I’d avoid is Maria, because there are so many Rosa-Maria’s and Maria-Rosa’s in Spain, that I genuinely found it confusing.
