my dd is called Scarlett. She's 6. She loves it and I love it and it really suits her. Its great to be the only Scarlett in a school!

fishie · 25/02/2008 22:14

good name, can be shortened nicely too... letty, carly (not scar hm)

Katie3677 · 25/02/2008 22:12

Love it, I wanted to use it if I ever have a DD, but told SIL about it and she has nicked it if she has a girl (due in May). fingers crossed she has a boy, and I have a girl someday soon!

brimfull · 25/02/2008 22:10

love it

Thomcat · 25/02/2008 22:07

I think it's really nice.
Would have been on my list for DD2 but I already had a Charlotte and personally didn't want a Charlotte and a Scarlett!

DloeufyDoo · 25/02/2008 22:04

Why fiddle dee dee.I love it! am reading the book again! Great name and great character.

oliviaelanasmum · 25/02/2008 22:03

I wanted to call dd3 Scarlett but as their surname is Lilley it sounded like an intimate complaint!

gigglewitch · 25/02/2008 21:59

i love it.

PussinJimmyChoos · 25/02/2008 21:55

My friend's DD is called Scarlett and its just lovely - tell your SIL to go for it!

janeite · 25/02/2008 21:50

Love it. It's one of the names I liked for dd2 but dp wouldn't even contemplate it.

Geri2 · 25/02/2008 21:49

Ooooh I love it, so long as their surname is not, 'O Hara' lol

Scarlett wasn't a bad girl! She was just in love with the wrong man!
She lost out in the end when she realised she loved Rhett too late

VictorianSqualor · 25/02/2008 20:48

Lol expat, I love that film/book

I love the character Scarlett and I love the name, not sure I'd use it because it doesn't go with my other DC's names or the surname, but if you can use it, do.

beachlover · 25/02/2008 20:42

although wouldnt mind being called scarlett myself

I think, 'Tomorrow is another day' and 'Tara! Tara!'

No, really, it's a bold name, I'd see if she looked like a Scarlett when she was born.

I had boy and girl zebra finches called Rhett and Scarlett.

loc · 25/02/2008 20:36

My friend has named her baby Scarlet, I agree it is very bold (and wouldn't have picked it myself) but it seems to suit her already.

LittleMissBliss · 25/02/2008 20:35

If I'd had a girl (got 3 month old ds) I would have loved to have called her Scarlett, But MIL and DP said it was a bit 'tarty' and jezabelesk. But I still like it, my Scarlett would be striking, charming witty . What do you think beachlover?

mustrunmore · 25/02/2008 20:35

I adore it, and wish I was one

ratbunny · 25/02/2008 20:35

love it! it would have been the name of ds if he was a girl.

Saturn74 · 25/02/2008 20:35

Used to nanny a Scarlett.
She was a force of nature, and her name really suited her.
Dark curls, green eyes.
She was lovely.

Bubble99 · 25/02/2008 20:34

I was just trying to think what it would end up shortened to...Lettie?
