Middle name for Emma…

I love the name Emma so much and it’s the only name I can imagine calling our baby if it’s a girl. I keep thinking of others and liking them for a while but going back to Emma.

Anyway, our surname is quite boring one syllable along the lines of Smith so think that a more interesting middle name is needed to liven things up a bit!

Would love to hear your opinions on the below -

Emma Eloise
Emma Valentina
Emma Rosalie
Emma Lavender
Emma Winter
Emma Sophia
Emma Isabella
Emma Primrose

I imagine that my partner will veto half of these 😅

Any other suggestions along these lines?

other names I like are -

Eleni
Olive
Lilah
Marielle
Autumn
Daphne

Will she have your partner's surname? If so choose a middle name from your side of the family, what first and middle names do your mother and grandmothers have that you could use?

Unless you are absolutely sure you won't be having any more children, don't choose a name that you might want to use as a first name for another daughter in future!

I like Emma Daphne ... Daphne is a lovely name! There's a toddler one local to me , when I heard her name I thought it was really refreshing and unusual without being odd.

Have an Emma Elizabeth with a 2-syllable surname.

As a child of the 80s, there were a LOT of Emmas in my classes. They all had one of the following middle names: Jane, Louise, Marie or Kate.
I don't know many young Emmas but know. Lot of Ellas which sounds very similar. Their middle names are: Louise, May / Mae, Grace and Rose.

I had a doll called Emma Divine... was convinced I'd use it eventually for a DD!

Quinn?

WillyLows · 21/06/2023 08:27

Please don't call her Emma Olive. That's just "I'm an olive".

They're not timeless, they're 80s AF!!!! If you're of a certain age people try to add in an 80s hyphen too. It's extremely annoying.

I may be biased.

I suppose I meant they're not going to be terribly unfashionable or sound awful in 10 years time. And no one has ever tried to hyphenate my name 🤷‍♀️

DaftyLass · 21/06/2023 02:19

Roslyn
Marie
Daphne

I really like Emma Winter, but also Emma Jane or Emma Louise are timeless!

Gemma. Grin

LucyLastik · 21/06/2023 01:17

I have an Emma Simone

OwlSock · 21/06/2023 01:05

Emma Katherine.

Obviously love this combination as it is mine. I am fairly old (50s) but have been known at various stages (in addition to Emma) as Em, Emm, Emmie, M, MK and have liked them all. Currently, everyone in my life calls me Em. Great choice!

Ambroserock · 21/06/2023 00:59

From your list Emma Sophia flows best.
If you are open to suggestions, Emma Elizabeth is what immediately sprang to mind for me.

Treesnbirds · 21/06/2023 00:48

I LOVE Emma Valentina and Emma Winter! Such beautiful names 😍😍.
