does anyone have a dd called boo??

if so how do people react to it? do they think it is a bit odd?what about when they get to school - has anyone teased them about it?

not sure ... i know a few people have used it as a middle name, but i don't know anyone yet who has used it as a first name. some great great great aunt in our family had it as a middle name.

There is a Boo on Monsters Inc if that helps... so her parents have a child with that name

I like Boo for a name. It's sweet for a little girl but not too soppy for a teen or an adult.

Hm, is Boo actually a real name, lol...I know Beau is a boys name and Bo (as in Bo Derek) is a girls name...but Boo?

dd3 gets called 'Boo' after the little girls in monsters inc. but its not her name.

A friend has a dd with middle name Boudicca, nicknamed Boo. Too young for school yet, though!

beau is masculine but bo is both masculine and feminine.

Boo for me is always the little girl in Monsters Inc. or the answer to the knock knock joke - Knock Knock - Who's there? - Boo - Boo Who? - Oh stop crying it's only a joke.

Bo is a proper Swedish (? Scandinavian anyway) name, e.g. Bo Derek.

DH and I have sadly come the conclusion that DD does not have a first name that goes with the sort of person who we can see being given a Nobel prize for advancement in physics (ie not a barrister name)
Need to consider these things in the immediate post=partum period,

Boo is fine as a nickname (or a middle name really since they don't tend to get used) but not as a first name (IMO)

Bo is different altogether, absolutely fine.

My dd1 is nicknamed Boo, lots of people thought ot was her really name when they 1st knew her. It suits her but I am of the opinin that people need a sensible (friend calls it a 'barrister name')name as well.

I know a little girl called Bo. She is four and has not been teased yet. Lots of adults raise eyebrows though and I have to admit that many of her parents' friends had a good laugh about the name when it was first announced (although that is partly because of the way it pairs with their surname)
