Willow for a girl; my friend just named her baby Willow Grace. It sounds like that awful show Will & Grace!

My neice is Willow, I didn't like it at first, I thought she might get called weeping Willow, silly Willy etc. The name had grown on us though.

devonsmummy · 05/02/2008 20:19

i like it - isn't one of Davina Mcalls (!?)daughters called Willow

skerriesmum · 05/02/2008 18:50

I didn't know there was a cricketer Grace as well, very interesting! I don't mind the name, and it's true the show will eventually fade out of collective memory.

nailpolish · 05/02/2008 14:50

MaryAnnSingleton · 05/02/2008 14:49

Willow and Grace are nice separately, though I knew of a dog called Willow, but not together.

MoreSpamThanGlam · 05/02/2008 14:48

I like that "awful" programme Will and Grace - in fact, I am Karen.

Pass me another Martini would you sweetie?

chrissnow · 05/02/2008 14:46

The dog was called Well 'Ard!!
Now that would be a fantastic name for a little boy

3andnomore · 05/02/2008 14:41

I quite like Willow, and well Grace is a beautyful name, and noting wrong with the show Will& Grace, imo

However, wasn't that german shephard Dog on Eastender (Robbies Dog) called Willow?

I like Willow and seeing as I have one I must like Grace!!! (and so far is not living up to her name!!!)

nailpolish · 05/02/2008 09:48

sorry, touched a nerve with me there as dd1 is getting called an unkind nickname at school by a nasty girl in her class

suzywong · 05/02/2008 09:47
nailpolish · 05/02/2008 09:46

you can take any name and make horrible nicknames from it

especially if you are childish

stop being so nasty

branflake81 · 05/02/2008 09:44

AuntyThesis · 05/02/2008 09:41

buffy.

suzywong · 05/02/2008 09:40

nope, don't like it as a first name
second name fine

she will be called "willy" or derivation thereof throughout her adolescence.

SoupDragon · 05/02/2008 09:40

I like Willow. Although it's one of those names that can backfire if the child turns out to be not willowy at all. Grace is another of those names. I still love the names though.

kayzr · 05/02/2008 09:37

I really like that name. My friends daughter's middle name is Willow. After the Buffy character

jabberwocky · 05/02/2008 01:40

But in a few years time the show will probably be ancient history. I like it, although Willow is a little New Agey for me personally.
