@mums4ever , because someone started a thread asking Rate my girls list..
I don't particularly care what your daughters are called as it wasn't you who asked, but I like Imogen in full. Francesca is nice enough - a friend has one but she's usually 'Chess'.

My post (20/05/2025 11:03) was in response to a post that has since vanished and looked suspicious, so the context is lost. OP's list of names are all fine.

The OP last posted three years ago.

emanwemyn WHY do you care? We just love the names Imogen and Francesca, they're classic, beautiful and have great significances.

In order of preference. I would shorten Alexandra to Sacha. I wouldn't use Xanthe at all, too much confusion over the pronunciation.

Xanthe - ok, seems an X name for the sake of it. Not keen on 'th' sound.
Francesca - ok, a bit frilly. I don't like Frankie or Chessie
Imogen - ok, I don't like Immy etc
Saskia - great
Alexandra - i know loads and lots of male Alexs.
Claudia - only know 1 and she's a 'cloud-ya'

My pick would be Saskia.

in order my top three would be - Claudia, Saskia, Ianthe nn Xanthe

Xanthe - Ianthe better as a full name as more grown up, but it’s a bit fussy and Lispy
Francesca - elegant, but getting popular
Imogen - ok, Popular, slightly twee
Saskia - nice, and stands out more
Alexandra - nice but it will get shortened
Claudia - great, elegant but less popular than Francesca

My order:
Xanthe (love this name!)
Alexandra (love this too, but Alexander is such a perfect boys name I’d be scared to use it!)
Imogen (neutral on this)
Saskia (it’s okay I think there are nicer Dutch names)
Francesca (hard to spell I think)
Claudia (only ever met mean ones! - but I think it is rather personal feedback)

Adore Xanthe and really like Saskia, which is my middle name and I always get complimented on it. I've often wished I had changed my first name to my middle name.
