Is Tarquin a real name?

I always hear ‘tarquin’ as a bit of a joke ‘posh’ name but thinking about it I have NEVER met or encountered a single tarquin or even heard of any friends-of-friends-of-friends called tarquin.

Is it actually a real given name or a myth?

According to this article no babies have been named Tarquin in the UK in the last 10 years.

Unfortunately yes. It's a ridiculous name but it is real. Not sure who'd ever pick it out for their child though

I've not met a baby/child Tarquin but I have met a v posh adult one.

I've never met one but Jodie Kidd's ex is called Tarquin. He's a posh polo player.
It always makes me think of that creepy kid from Ben and Holly!
