DH and I are still deciding on baby boy name......what are people’s thoughts on Henry?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I love it so much!

zingally · 10/07/2020 11:40

It's a nice simple name that'll work through his life. It would work for a baby AND your brain surgeon! :)

I like the nickname Hal for it as well, which is a very old-English nickname.

Thanks for all your thoughts.....been very helpful. Henry looks to be moving to the top of our list :)

What do people think of Thomas as a middle name to go with Henry?

Henry is just Henry 8th to me.

SallyWD · 11/07/2020 17:32

I really like it. There are 3 in my daughter's class if that sort of thing bothers you. Great name though

Henry is a beautiful name; not popular with the younger generation where I am live. My son’s middle name is Henry - also love Harry as a nickname.

Henry Thomas is a lovely combination, go for it!!

DramaAlpaca · 12/07/2020 02:23

I love it, sadly DH didn't. He's Irish and Henry is 'too English', apparently Confused

Henry Thomas is great, good choice.

SengaStrawberry · 12/07/2020 02:24

Like it

Love it!

@dramaalpaca look up Henry Joy McCracken!

Hawkmoth · 14/07/2020 21:40

My Henry is a little get. The name doesn't sound so good when you're screaming at him to stop him falling to his death for the millionth time.

I wouldn't change it though :D I luffs my Henry.

Did you go for Henry in the end?

I like Henry a lot as a good, solid classic name that you cannot go wrong with. It's dignified but not overly pompous, and shortens well to Hal or Harry.

Exactly the sort of name I like.

However, with such a good, solid first name, I personally think you can be a bit more creative with the MN. I think Thomas is a bit too safe and boring together with Henry. You have done the sensible choice: have a bit more fun with the MN!

I think it's a bit late to be thinking for a creative middle name for a child who's about 6 years old.

Not a huge fan personally but you could do a lot worse
