Appreciate this style isn’t to everyone’s taste & ‘you won’t know what she’ll be like’ has been thrown around but then you don’t know if she’ll be sickly sweet when you call a little girl daisy? You may recognise me from the Connie or Frankie thread! Grin I still feel like I’m looking for that perfect cool name for our second little girl! Please give me all your amazing suggestions, you’ve all been so helpful so far!

“Well Evan is a unisex name so...“
Is it ? 6 girls called Evan last year.....

Talk to me about boys with traditional girls names. And if you don’t know any- why not?

@FrozenMargarita17 FrozenMargarita17
My girl is called Cali

Oh I love this 🥰

origamiunicorn · 21/02/2019 22:33

Would all those suggesting James, Michael, Jeremy, John, Evan etc. consider calling their sons Olivia, Sophie, Grace and Annabelle?

Well Evan is a unisex name so...

Cosmoa · 21/02/2019 21:41

@Pippathenippa shame as it really fits the bill! My friend is called Mika. I love it! I would of liked to use the name for my DD but me and Mika were pregnant at the same time and in contact a lot throughout.

How about Cleo or Kaia? I would suggest my dd's name but I'm super protective of it on mumsnet 😂 it's super rare!

You could always give her a double barrel name shortened to two letters like CJ or JP

Or TK

Blackgrey · 21/02/2019 20:46

My daughter is Roxy/ Roxanne. I wanted her to have a name that was feminine but not cutesy, could be shortened but full name and nickname recognisable and could easily be that of a badass lawyer or badass cleaner. An international award winning ballerina or an international rugby star. She won't waste hours of her life spelling or repeating it but she also won't be in a class/ workplace full of them. The song can fuck off, although she's 4 and she sings it without understanding the meaning obviously. She loves that she has a song for her! My other daughter would have been Lola or Francesca/ Frankie, I had a son though!

MamaDane · 21/02/2019 20:41

Jenson is not a girl's name. It is a surname that means the son of Jens (also a male name) 😕

Aimarge · 21/02/2019 20:36

How about Circe (sir-say) awesome legendary bad ass witch.

Also check out the Rebel Girls books from the libraries. Loads of cool strong women, past and present. Ada Lovelace being a strong mathematician and starting the first computer program

@CoperCabana 😴
Oh my (sensitive, sweet, empath) daughter with a strong non frilly has kept me pretty distracted to.

OP posts:
CoperCabana · 21/02/2019 19:58

I resent being called embarassing. I have been distracting myself waiting for my frilly names (strong, courageous, empathetic, clever) daughter’s blood test results at the same time as trying to address sexism.

Cosmoa · 21/02/2019 19:57

Pronounced mee-ka

Cosmoa · 21/02/2019 19:56

@Pippathenippa
Has anyone suggested Mika?

Pippathenippa · 21/02/2019 19:48

Oh drop it @BettyUnderswoob if you don’t want to suggest names just ignore the thread. The word ‘tomboy’ has never offended anyone I’ve met in real life people just nit pick on here.
