I am still deciding between Darcy and Violet, but just wondering how you would spell Darcy for a girl?

Curious, what did you end up calling your daughter

Violet is nice (depending on accent) and such a lovely flower. Viola is even prettier.

Probably Darcy if I had to use it, but surnamey names are not really my cup of tea.

HugoYorway · 18/04/2025 17:38

I see it as a name that appeals to a certain type of parent.

I wouldn't. Bloody awful name - you're setting them up for 'arsey darcy' for life.

I'm always curious what kind of "arsey" children you are all raising when you think this is what will happen.

Love the name Darcy. I'd rank the spellings 1. Darcy, 2. Darcie and 3. Darcey

HugoYorway · 18/04/2025 15:08

@MrsJoyOdell , I think it's awful too.

Darcey Bussell isn't her real name, can't remember what it is though. I like it.

Marnie Mercedes Darcey Pemberton Crittle

Not at all. My daughter is Darcie and she is always called Darcie.

DustyNo1 · 18/04/2025 06:26

Darcie is the prettiest spelling for this name.

user1471552178 · 25/04/2017 15:45

Definitely Darcey......just like the wonderful ballerina Darcey Bussell.

My lg is Darcey and has never been called arsey!!!
For all the haters out there, each to their own and it would be incredibly boring if we all liked the same name and you probably have a name that's not my cup of tea! Grin

Dixiestamp · 25/04/2017 01:43

Dixiestamp · 25/04/2017 01:27

I have come across the name spelt as :- Darcey, Darcy, Darcie and Darci. Not sure which I prefer, possibly Darcie?!

KindDogsTail · 25/04/2017 00:23

Like the wonderful ballerina Darcey Bussell.

SpreadYourHappiness · 25/04/2017 00:20

Darcey. Any other spelling just doesn't look right.

GreatFuckability · 25/04/2017 00:17

D'arcy, like the bassist in the Smashing pumpkins.

gives away age

SuperBeagle · 24/04/2017 22:53

Darcy.

But the two I know spell it Darcie and Darcey.

BugsyStar30 · 24/04/2017 22:51

I have a Darcy. And she has never been called Arsey Darcy ever!!!

DramaAlpaca · 24/04/2017 22:45

Darcey. It's not my style though. Much prefer Violet.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 24/04/2017 22:33

Darsee. I'll hold my hands up I love unique spellings.

Avocuddle · 24/04/2017 20:59

The word Darcey doesn't look real to me now I've read it so many times over Grin the one that I know is a Darcie just FYI

Kazzawazza69 · 24/04/2017 20:51

Darcie, Darcey, Darcy in that order.
