I do not like the term Chevy and wouldn't use it. I'm. It entirely sure if the point of the hyphen though? Would you actually call him John-Robert? Like Mary-Ann?

If so why not?

If not, drop the hyphen.

Great... I think I'll be changing my son's name this week! SadGrin he is only 10 weeks, so it isn't the end of the world.

Johnny is a fabulous name but John-Robert in a oner like that is really not to my taste.

BUT...if you love it then don't change it for everyone else. Whatever name you pick there will be people who love it and people who hate it.

He already has a middle name, that I'd like to stick, so we would remove Robert all together. I often actually call him John-Robert, but normally Johnny. He's only 10 weeks. We will probably end up removing Robert now though!

It just doesn't flow. I know a Robert-John, which works better, but it's still two pretty dull names lumped together and hyphenated.

It sounds very American Redneck to me I'm afraid. Not good. There is no reason you can have John Robert [next middle name] [surname] though. That's a perfectly good name with no negative connotations

Nothing wrong with it at all! I wouldn't change it. Two timeless, strong,classic names made slightly more unusual by combining them.

Johnny is great. Just make John his official first name and give him two middle names. Easy peasy.

Wasn't JR Ewing from Dallas a John Robert? It makes me want to put on a Texan accent when I say it.
