Edmund.

I really like it as it reminds me of one of my favourite characters but dp and his family immediately think of someone else, who I can't stand. I'm hoping it's just them who will associate it in that way though.

Black adder

Maroonie · 14/04/2016 11:11

Narnia

lornathewizzard · 14/04/2016 11:16

Yep Blackadder

IdaShaggim · 14/04/2016 11:17

Narnia.

Obliviated · 14/04/2016 11:17

I was really hoping it wouldn't be Blackadder! The programme irritates the life out of me.

I love the character of Edmund in the CS Lewis books and the films.

Narnia!

tilder · 14/04/2016 11:21

Blackadder here as well.

Not sure my cultural references will apply to children born now though.

Joinourclub · 14/04/2016 11:23

Old man.

ChipsandGuac · 14/04/2016 11:25

My first thought was Narnia. Then Blackadder! It's a lovely name though.

PresidentCJCregg · 14/04/2016 11:28

Old men. Generally.

AnotherUsernameBitesTheDust · 14/04/2016 11:28

My first thought was Narnia despite being a huge Blackadder fan.

In fact until I read other posts I couldn't even think of another Edmund apart from Narnia! Blush

Narnia. And then King Lear.

I wouldn't think Blackadder, although I love the programme. I'm not on first name terms with that character. Grin

MackerelOfFact · 14/04/2016 11:35

It is a lovely name but it makes me think of, erm, Noel Edmonds. Blush

peasweet05 · 14/04/2016 11:36

Narnia

NameChange30 · 14/04/2016 11:38

Edmund Bertram from Mansfield Park by Jane Austen

StDogolphin · 14/04/2016 11:40

Narnia (only realised it was Blackadder when I read the other replies) but it doesnt matter because in a few short weeks the first person anyone in your family thinks of will be your DS.

GerundTheBehemoth · 14/04/2016 11:40

My friend's 20-something son. He is a good sort.

SecretlyChartreuse · 14/04/2016 11:42

Generic Tudor younger brothers who never made history then Narnia.

StDogolphin · 14/04/2016 11:42

Also, Blackadder is losing relevance as it ages. As your son gets older he would become 'the' Edmund.

AStreetcarNamedBob · 14/04/2016 11:49

Blackadder. But it's getting older so this generation won't really be as aware of it

ILikeUranus · 14/04/2016 12:00

My first boyfriend.

KanyeWesticle · 14/04/2016 12:00

Narnia. Lovely.

NameChange30 · 14/04/2016 12:08

I didn't think of Blackadder btw. I've watched bits of it but I didn't know that was his first name.

CotedePablo · 14/04/2016 12:10

Sir Edmund Hilary. I am very very old.
