Henry, James and... ??

DH and I are going round and round in circles and this may be the first baby in history to just remain nameless for ever..

We have Henry and James already.

Can't have William (clashes with surname)

I like George, Oliver or Arthur - DH hates them passionately.
He likes Charlie but I (irrationally?) hate Charles and cannot put a nickname on the BC (not negotiable)

We have ruled out Archie, Edward, Andrew, Albert...

The only one we don't dislike is Alexander. Can't face naming a baby a name just because we don't dislike it. I'd like to find a name that we like (maybe even love!)

I seem to really only like "royal" names.. ie "Jacob" "Joshua" "Noah" etc just don't cut it. I feel so picky but so dull. can't help it!

So if you had a gun to your head and had to name Henry and James' brother... what would you pick?

Fridgedooropen · 20/09/2015 21:46

Richard and Robert are the top ones to come to mind.

tinybellows · 20/09/2015 21:46

Ben?

tipple · 20/09/2015 21:47

Benjamin

Blueskies80 · 20/09/2015 21:47

I have a James and if we are lucky enough to have dc3 and it's a boy will be George! Or maybe Robert!

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 20/09/2015 21:48

Oh sorry, victor. That was really tactless of me.

If it makes you feel any better, I wanted DS to be Rory or Innes but DH point blank refused even though I sobbed.

Actually, do you like angus or Rory? They would go well. Can't use Innes as its Gaelic for James.

ExBallerina · 20/09/2015 21:48

Thomas was my first thought too.

What about Benjamin?

BuckyLastard · 20/09/2015 21:48

Alexander

gunadeas · 20/09/2015 21:50

What about Dylan?

VictorJames · 20/09/2015 21:51

Stephen?
Michael?

British royal family names might include:

Louis
Peter
John
Philip (pfff but for the sake of completeness)
David
Frederick
Richard
Malcolm (way way back!)
Edmund (not sure, if you don't like Edward)
Robert
Archibald (you said you'd ruled out)

Christian if you want to go Danish?

I think if I really had to choose one I'd go for David. Or possibly Frederick.

Sadik · 20/09/2015 21:52

I thought Thomas - not because of the engines, but it does 'go' in style.

Scottish kings that have names that might suit:
Edgar / David / Robert

English kings you don't seem to have ruled out - skipping the more outlandish early ones:
Stephen / Richard / (Oliver)

iwouldgoouttonight · 20/09/2015 21:52

Henry, James, George and William are names i like that were on our boys name shortlist. I also like:

Joseph
Toby
Reuben
Alexander

They're not 'royal' names but sound quite timeless (to me!)

Groovee · 20/09/2015 21:53

Freddie

Sadik · 20/09/2015 21:53

I think Oliver would go particularly well with Henry and James, even if he wasn't a king!

Cerseithequeen · 20/09/2015 21:53

My absolute favourite is Jasper (Jazz), followed by Leopold (Leo).

CloakAndJagger · 20/09/2015 21:53

Arthur.

Henry, James and Arthur just goes together well in my head. It helps that I have a friend with an absolutely gorgeous bundle called Arthur!

Penfold007 · 20/09/2015 21:54

Thomas
