Henry, James and... ??

DH and I are going round and round in circles and this may be the first baby in history to just remain nameless for ever..

We have Henry and James already.

Can't have William (clashes with surname)

I like George, Oliver or Arthur - DH hates them passionately.
He likes Charlie but I (irrationally?) hate Charles and cannot put a nickname on the BC (not negotiable)

We have ruled out Archie, Edward, Andrew, Albert...

The only one we don't dislike is Alexander. Can't face naming a baby a name just because we don't dislike it. I'd like to find a name that we like (maybe even love!)

I seem to really only like "royal" names.. ie "Jacob" "Joshua" "Noah" etc just don't cut it. I feel so picky but so dull. can't help it!

So if you had a gun to your head and had to name Henry and James' brother... what would you pick?

If you are looking for a name with "royal" connexions why not be a little more cavalier and go for Rupert

George is lovely, but reading your thread title I would have said Peter. It's classic, not common but timeless, everyone knows the name but there are not many little Peters around - it does have a royal connection too, isn't Zara Phillips brother called Peter?

It's a shame William doesn't work because it sounds right with the other two, as would Charles though I agree with you it doesn't work as a child's name.

Husband has cracked I think... He is now agreeing to George... Possibly because at 12 week scan yesterday sonographer couldn't see a willy (even tho so early) and it made us lean towards girl! I've told him it doesn't mean anything because the willy would be like a pin head if it even existed this early so no wonder he didn't see one. But George is now agreed on I think!!

Rufus? Nickname for William II. Possibly not quite so 'classic' as Henry and James though (which I think are both great names btw!)

Matthew? Goes quite well with both names (Henry is my other DS and James is DS1's middle name!) or Thomas?

I really think Thomas is perfect with your sibset. You could use Tom as the day to day to avoid the tank engine link, but then again, it doesn't matter if people make the connection as your boys will love it I'm sure and it will only matter for a few of the early years anyway.
