Expecting Quads!!

Quadsontheway · 17/09/2014 00:05

I'm currently expecting quads at the moment but I'm yet to find out the genders so I am short listing from these names, I'm aware that some of them are quite unusual but I don't want them to be one of 4 kids in the same class with the same name. I'm open to all honest opinions before I choose the final 4:

Girls
Anarchy "Ana" "Annie" Jessica Ellen
Avia
Cara
Emilia Valentina
January "Jani" Nicolette
Josslyn
Joy-Anna
Kendall Kate
Madison "Maddie"
Nova
Rebel
Sophia
Tyler/Tylar
Vienna
Xanthe

Boys
Chai
Daxton
Felix
Gage
Jonah
Jedediah
Jeremiah
Kennedy
Palmer
Phoenix
Wyatt Jett Everett
Xavier
Zac

all the names need to flow with our surname Carter-Hunt

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BOFster · 21/09/2014 01:01

You're right, Linguaphile, I hadn't thought of it like that.

Linguaphile · 21/09/2014 00:54

I sincerely hope that this is not made up, OP, but the chances of your story being true (two sets of quads and two sets of triplets without any maternal heredity?) is so statistically unlikely that it is hard to believe you. Whilst it's fine to use this board to gather opinions about names even if you're not pregnant, fake stories about multiples makes it hard for people in real-life multiple pregnancies to be taken seriously. As a twin mum trying to choose names for my girls last year, I experienced shunning on other name boards because so many people were faking multiples that every person claiming to have twins or more on the way was automatically labelled a troll. This board was one of the few places I was taken seriously; please don't jeopardise that for others.

ByeByeButterfly · 21/09/2014 00:23

Girls names I like:

Sophia
Vienna
Xanthe

I would also like Emilia but the Valentina being 2 names ending in a doesn't flow right to me, but both lovely names.

Boys names I like:
Xavier
Zac
Felix
Jonah

I think if I was choosing your quad names I'd go with:
Sophia, Jonah, Xanthe and Felix :D

Turquoisetamborine · 20/09/2014 21:35

Wow it's a wonder your husband's family hasn't been in the papers with that amazing history of multiples. Have you thought about contacting the Daily Mail?
My brothers are from three generations of twins and they made the papers and that isn't half as unlikely as your situation.

zeeboo · 20/09/2014 00:01

I think somebody watches waaay too much TLC and Lifetime!!

Lunastarfish · 17/09/2014 21:25

Yeezus! Good luck! I like:-

January
Xanthe
Emilia
Sophia

Zac
Wyatt
Xavier
Palmer.

I like Kennedy but I think it is more of a girls name, like Cassidy (which you should choose of course!)

I also reallylike the suggestion of Maverick, that's cool.

AnotherStitchInTime · 17/09/2014 19:24

How about:

Xenia for a girl
Emmet means rebellion (against the British Grin)
Chione is Greek and means rebellious snow nymph

I like Xanthe and Nova for girls and Felix, Jeremiah, Everett and Xavier from the boys.

trainersandaches · 17/09/2014 19:09

Wasn't there a thread a few months ago (May have been zapped) with someone else claiming to be expecting quads too?

The pop culture continues with Rebel and Anarchy too - Rebel Wilson the actress has siblings called Annarchi, Liberty and Ryot Grin

Your husband being a multiple and his sisters having muliples has no affect on your ovaries whatsoever.

MoominKoalaAndMiniMoom · 17/09/2014 16:43

Ah ah ah, Jon & Kate Plus 8 which is now Kate Plus 8, have twins called Maddy and Cara.

Madison Nicole is the full name of Maddie Ziegler, the girl off Dance Moms. Kendall and Sophia have also been on Dance Moms.

It's like playing spot the pop culture reference Grin (although I actually like a lot of the names... not Anarchy and Rebel, but some of the others are nice)... however there are a LOT of 'T's in Wyatt Jett Everett.

IHeartKingThistle · 17/09/2014 16:28

And Joy-Anna, Jeremiah and Jedediah are all Duggars. Just saying.

RoseyHope · 17/09/2014 16:24

And Gage is one of the cousins. Other boys are Gavin and Brock.

Odd thread! Grin

DawnInOnMe · 17/09/2014 15:46

YY to multiples running on the mothers side (although poss skipping a generation). Multiple (non-identical) pregnancies are conceived due to multiple egg release, sperm doesn't affect that Confused

MoominKoalaAndMiniMoom · 17/09/2014 15:42

Daxton, Emilia and Avia are all Shaytards kids aren't they? Can't remember their other 2 boys.

If this is real, as a Madison known as Maddy I approve Grin

RoseyHope · 17/09/2014 15:32

OP, would I be right in guessing you watch the Shaytards?

BOFster · 17/09/2014 14:24

But thanks for the explanation, it's very interesting. I don't think you tend to get quads from IVF either these days, for ethical reasons, as the doctors won't allow that many blastocysts to implant because of the increased risks.

BOFster · 17/09/2014 14:21

I may have missed some detail in the posts, but of course I thought it was bollocks from the off (hence my gentle prodding), but I was just treating it as a discussion about bonkers bad taste names really.

singersgirl · 17/09/2014 13:58

It is harmless to ask about names but still strange. Also strange that the father is apparently from a whole family of multiples.

Multiple births (if not by IVF) are either random occurrences (random splitting of embryo into two or more or one-off ovulation of more than one egg) or a tendency to multiple ovulation inherited via the mother. It doesn't matter what sort of sperm you've got, you need more than one egg to be released and fertilised in the same cycle to have more than one baby, so multiple non-idential births tend to run in the maternal line. Sometimes though a man can pass the gene for hyperovulation inherited from his mother onto a daughter who then has a multiple birth so the twins/multiples can appear to skip a generation.

Identical twins don't run in families and a woman who is an identical twin is no more likely to give birth to twins than anyone else.

stinkingbishop · 17/09/2014 13:26

Add Blaise to the list for boys and Trinity/Liberty/Serenity for girls (nicer abstract concepts than anarchy!!!)

Congrats btw. Is this for real? If so...get thee to TAMBA quick. They'll offer you loads of advice/support/grants etc.

GOOD LUCK!

I only have half what you're about to get and am about to have a lunchtime schnooze as it is! Wink

BOFster · 17/09/2014 12:37

Of course it's unlikely, but it's harmless enough asking opinions on names, isn't it?

AmysTiara · 17/09/2014 12:36

Is Carter-Hunt really your surname?

If this is actually true although Cara is a lovely name it doesnt go with the surname

titchy · 17/09/2014 12:28

If this is for real surely you should be worrying about viability rather than names at this stage Hmm
