How is Taaylaa pronounced?

Came across this name the other day and can't imagine how it is spoken. Tylaaah? Tar-y-lar?

Well that's my girls names thrown out of the window. Not spelt conventionally and slightly made up. ps, not Chavvy names I swear.

It was a feeble attempt at sick humour. Sorry to those offended. I was going to comment that the word 'chav' and all the Vicki Pollard, Catherine Tate's Lauren etc all came out at the same time that 'the poor' were all seen as benefit scroungers and demonised. I've got more dislike of 'original' spellings actually.

I'm not offended aliceliddell! I just think that saying that a name is 'made up' is stupid because all names arfe made up, they didn't just appear out of the ether Grin

Taylor is not to my taste but [shrug] Tayla looks prettier, Taaylaa looks utterly daft. IMO. Unless it is your culture to put multiple double A combos in words.

Of course, if it turns out that it is, in fact, an name then there is nothing more to be said.

Spelling a name for example with a K instead of a C doesn't bother me, it's just deliberate and elaborate misspellings which look a bit silly. Like...I don't know, Olivia being spelt Ollyvier.

My favourite was Typhane.

Tiffany. FFS.

No one was slating the name Taylor, just the desperate re-spelling of it.

Taylor isn't to my taste but it is a name. Taaylaa, on the other hand, is an explosion in the Alphabet Soup factory.

It is the name of a friend-of-a-friend's daughter. It was the double 'a' that confused me. When I see 'aa', I imagine it as sounding like 'arr', but 'Tarr-y-laar' sounded a bit wrong.

There is a very simple explanation for this horror. When their daughter was born, the 'A' key on their keyboard was a bit sticky, and they have simply been too embarassed to admit this to anyone since.

Like Taylor but with a very broad Australian accent. Think Irene from Home and Away calling Taylor across the playground.
