Girl's name, meaning the sweet-smelling daffodil-like plant and associated with the colour yellow.
Thoughts please.

I went to school with a Jonquil - she would be abpout 34 now.

I think it's a lovely name - very pretty. Suited her as well, she was a quiet studious type. Nobody really thought the name was unusual (mind you this was in a class with a Tuesday and a Keturah in it Grin)

I know a female adult Jonquil in real life. I like her, very friendly and straight with you, but very loud extrovert personality. She's called Quil for short, btw.

Ooh, makes me think of the children's book "The Giant Under the Snow" which I loved when I was younger - the girl in that was called Jonquil

Either posh British boys name, or black/mixed race name sprang to mind.

ugh

I think it will inevitably become "Junkie".

I immediately thought of posh boy's name too! Doesn't really "do it" for me.

GooseyLoosey · 26/10/2010 08:23

Gosh, I thought it was a posh boys' name along the lines of Tarquin. Not for me.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 26/10/2010 08:17

hahahaha.
